April 2014 car rentals

Sorry, yes I did. I used xz53043 But I actually just used the klm code instead and got it down to 240.

I am holding 2 reservations right now. Both National with the KLM code. One for a midsize emerald aisle for 291 and one for a standard (which is fullsize) for 301. My rental period is April 12 to 22. We rent this week every year, but this time Easter falls within the time frame, so I am not sure I will see it lower!

I just checked and I paid $198 for a standard/full size with Alamo for 10 days the same week in 2013. And it was rebooked MANY times, with the best price 3 weeks out from the trip. My August trip our best price out was about a week before!

Dollar rates are down for MCO this morning. Late April...8 days...standard...
235.00 total. Not the best, but far less than others.

I always start on Kayak. If you are looking close to Easter, prices have been on the high side.

If you are a member. some of the wholesale clubs have some competitive rates also. I have my car reserved at MCO using BJs Club Travel. It is about $266 for a week. I am going the week before Easter. A mini van from Dollar for the week of 04/12 is $382 (including tax) a week at SFB on http://travel.bjs.com. I also find Costco travel to be pretty competitive too. Costco is about $525 from Alamo for the same time.

DHand I are renting a car this year and even for our 5 day/4 night trip it's about $180. Is that the going rate these days? We haven't rented a car for anything since 2010!

I was checking rates for an April 2014 rental on BJ's site - travel/rental cars and noted a National link for discounts. I clicked on it and it shows six or seven different discounts all with a stated expiration date of 12/31/15. Except for a double upgrade coupon when I tried the other discounts through the National site I got the message the coupon would expire prior to the rental date. Anyone know why these coupons are not working?

]I called national to see why the coupon expiring 12/31/15 was not working, and they were not helpful - actually bordering on rude. It seems that the coupon actually expires 12/31/13. It clearly states 2015, but I was getting too frustrated to argue.

Seems like every year end there is a bit of a lag with BJ's before coupons are good. In past I called and added coupons closer to reservation without any problem

I'm looking at a price of $385 at Thrifty for a SUV 4/17-24. :sad2: For that price, I can hire a company to drive me Cocoa Beach in their Escalade, rent a car there for three days, and have the car service drive me back to MCO after my cruise.

You're right where we are, or maybe better - I've got a full size 4/6-4/12 for just about $400. Hoping the prices will drop as we get closer, because I've honestly never seen them this high. :(

Found a $30 off weekly rental at National. Used with KLM code to get 6 day rental in late April for $185!

KLM: 8572130
$30 Off: NDA2324BR

Tried to post the link to the coupon, but it wouldn't let me. If you google national car rental coupon code, you should find it.

The KLM code is a decent rate, but I noticed it includes all insurance, etc. I've heard people say there will be a problem if the car is involved in an accident. Should I be wary of the codes that are all inclusive. I've read that many people use this KLM code.
