April 2010 code watch?!

I'm watching and waiting too. I would like some sort of discount for April 5-11. It is killing me that a Value room is almost $140 a night!

I'm getting waiting for some kind of discount.
Disney has lost a few points in my favorites catagory.
I have been exploring other vacation ideas and will go on a different
vacation If something doesn't come out soon.

I hear you both. I started out going to CSR for ten nights for our Easter trip, now I have downgraded to Pop, and like maxiesmom, I going to pay $140-145 a night for a standard room. Dh is taking a paycut, so I may just have to cancel if something doesn't come out in the way of a deal. Right now, I can't even get a AAA discount. And buffets are at holiday pricing and even doing the quick serve thing is going to cost us almost $1300 for a family of four to eat cs for nine days.

I noticed Disney released their 4th quarter earnings statement and they mentioned park attendance is up, but profit is down because of the promotions. So I wonder if they'll be extending the 4/3 and 5/2 deals. Maybe they won't figuring that bringing all those people in doens't benefit them that much? I am just sick of the waiting game.

I love going so much, and yet the effort of waiting for the pricing, switching over when it comes out, making ADR's months in advance can really make me wonder sometimes!

So for the first time I called to see if I had a pin associated with my name and lo and behold!! I had 3! Count 'em 3!!! One for right now til Christmas- one for Jan-March and the one I actually need which is 30% off any value stays (35 for mods and 40 for delux, which we never do) BUT the date runs from April 11th- May something... our trip starts on the 10th. So I emailed the DreamsUnlimited travel agent we have worked with on all 3 of our trips to ask her opinion on a split stay- book just the one night at full price and then start the package stay for the remaining 6 nights.

Her thought was that is is a huge hassle, but I am not giving up even one day of vacay to get that deal. I WILL check-in, check-out and do it allover again for that savings. I will hold out for a couple more weeks for a different deal (come on 4/3!!), but ultimately will go for the pin code and split stay scenario if need be.

We have never held the kids out of school for a vacation so that is why the trip has to run Saturday to Sunday. Wish my conscience would let me add that extra day til Monday! Could really use the breathing room in my touring plans! lol

You need to be in the Disney “system”, go to “My Disney Vacation” and create an account if you have not already done so.

Last year, it was beginning of November that they released the 4/3 deal for April and I was hoping that would happen this year. Well, I haven't seen anything or heard any other rumors. Anyone else hear anything at all about the possibility of Disney extending the 4/3 deal for the month we are all looking at??

So you just called CRO and asked if a PIN code was attached to your record?

Yep. Call 407-wdisney. They told me the dates the pins were good for and then read off the pin number (looooong) so I could email it to my travel agent to have applied to my reservation.

Worked like a charm except our trip begins on the 10th of April and the code begins on the 11th of April. So unless I move the trip up a day I cannot have the pin applied. Hence, the reason for possible doing a split stay (check in on 10th (paying rack rate)-checkout next day and check in all over again on the 11th to get the savings).

Have not decided yet if I want to go that route or wait and see on the 4/3 deal coming out. Come on 4/3!!!!

Don't want to sound like a broke record but go into My Disney Vacation and start planning out a vacation package and every few days go back and do some more research. You might be surprised what you receive via email in a few weeks.

No I haven't, trying to get on the special list.

I am a DVC and AP owner, so I am thinking that Disney must know they are going to get my money one way or another.

I just adjusted our DVC April 2010 vacation to free up some points for the February weekend I was waiting on the AP rates for. Take away from one to give to the other I guess....

Yes, I got one a few weeks after I started to explore my options on "My Disney Vacation" and have saved a few vacation packages. The pin saved me just a little over $480 for 7 nights at PO Riverside.

I did this a few weeks ago and got a pin! But I must say goodbye to this thread. We decided NOT to go to Disney in April BUT I am going to Disney for a week in March for a conference (at the Swan & Dolphin) and every evening I will be at a park and I'll be there on the weekend too so
And because of this pin code, my family has decided to go in the summer instead and this will include my mom and some of my siblings and their families. Summer weather at WDW is not as nice as April, but I get to use the pin and my extended family will come!

If you had already budgeted and were comfortable with a higher cost, I'd spend that savings! You are still saving $800 over your original reservation. And a MK Tower room for me is the whole reason to stay at the CR. I don't think I could stay there and not have that view!

Or you could take that $600 and do some wonderful things at WDW you've always wanted to do (one of the tours, fireworks cruise, Victoria and Alberts, that sort of thing).

The possiblities are endless.
