April 2005 - When are your Spring Breaks?

Hi. My wife and I are trying to decide when to go to BCV next year. I'm thinking the first week of May, to avoid crowds. She's thinking early April, to get more of a break from the NY weather.

My concern with early April is that it will be too crowded. Easter is on March 27th. I assume that means that from March 20th to April 4th will be crowded with Easter-time visitors.

How crowded do you think April 3-10 or 10-17 would be? Our local school has its break from April 17-24.

When are your breaks?

I think by April 10th you'll see the crowds thin out. Easter being that early always throws a wrench into those spring breaks.

DS will have off President's Day week. As well as Good Friday and the entire week after Easter.

We're out here in the Western Suburbs of Chicago. Our Spring Break is Mar 26 - Apr 3th. We are a catholic school but follow the local public schools spring break which is usually the end of March to early April.

We be at WDW from 3/29 - 4/3.

Our Spring Break is always Good Friday plus the week following Easter.

NYC public schools are closed Good Friday. Our spring break is April 25-29.

My district is backwards, no matter when Easter is we are off the final week of April. As for my DW and DD they are both off the week following Easter.

Looks like a lot of school's will still be off for a week in April somewhere. I think then it may still be a heavier month all around.

I teach in RI and my kids are in school in Worcester, MA.
We both have April break the week of the17-24 in 2005.
We went last Feb break (as we have for three years) and it was mobbed, so we were thinking April. With all the different breaks in April, will it be better or worse, do you think?

We were there last month when MA and Maine and RI had their breaks. It was much more crowded than I expected, since it was the week after Easter. I had thought that as the week went on, it would become less crowded, but it never did. I think that part of the problem was that the park hours had been reduced, and the MK closed VERY early on the last 3 days of our stay because of grad nights and a private party. Epcot and MGM and downtown disney were mobbed on all three nights. Because I always know when the MA vacation is in April, I know when we will be there next time ( a long way off ), but am not sure when Easter will be in 2007.

This same question came up about 3 weeks ago - I think about 50 people responded. The result was a very evenly distributed split across 6 weeks beginning the week before Easter (March 20, I think) and ending the last week of April.

For the record our break is the first full week of April - April 3 -10, I believe.

While getting away from NY's lingering winter in early April would be nice, I just don't want to put up with the crowds....

I'm voting early May....now I need to convince the wife.

Our Spring Break is a bit early next year and we're taking the kids out 2-3 days early and will be there March 2-12. I'm hoping that crowds aren't too bad judging from all the April breaks I'm seeing here!

Most of central/south Texas is in mid March. Ours in in early april-first full week I think.

My kids aren't old enough for school yet, so I have no idea what the dates are. We usually end up using spring break to make up snow days anyway. Our trip is May 3-9, 2005, so I vote for the 1st week of May!
