April 2, 2011 - 7 Night Western Caribbean

hI is anyone doing anything good this weekend

Just freaking out because we're really into the countdown and I've got way too much on my plate between now & then aside from all the cruise prep!

I did manage to get our FE gifts assembled tonight; DS3 was actually a big help with that and got very excited as I explained how the whole process works! Gosh we're gonna have fun

I'm getting so excited! I had a dream last night that we were on the ship and because I was so excited to be there, I missed the 2:45 meet. :lmao: Can you tell I am worried about loosing track of time once we board? :rotfl:

Sounds like a nightmare to me

A bit confused about door decorations, what allowed?

Basically anything is allowed, but they do not want adhesive on the doors. The doors are metal so magnets work perfectly. Many people print their decorations on magnet sheets that you can get from staples and other type stores. They also have magnet tape that you can stick on the back of paper or card stock if you don't want to do a whole sheet. The sheets are kind of expensive.

Hope that helps some.

Wow! Only 11 more days until we cruise, Disney style :-)
I am very excited!
So, my husband called tonight and changed us from late dinner seating to early seating. and we requested a table size just for our family. It may or may not be honored since the ship is totally full. but I want to feel comfortable at meals and not have to worry if the kids may act up in front of a table guest. And also we got put on the wait list for a room upgrade if one happens to come available.
I am starting to pack clothing and odds and ends. I'm so ready to go!

We still havent planned many excursions. We will do what we feel best at the time, I guess.

Enjoy your Sunday evening.

This will be our fifth time at Cozumel on a cruise (1-NCL and 4-DCL). Yes, the Punta Langosta Mall is a tourist trap but it really can't be avoided since you have to depart the pier through the area. Be forewarned that some of the shop keepers, no matter where you are in Cozumel, are somewhat pushy and in your face while trying to get you to come into their stores. Just say no thank you and continue on.

I would recommend eating lunch on the ship to be on the safe side if you want to avoid possible food issues. I think there are a couple of restaurants that Disney lists in the shopping guide that should be ok though. I will look back through our info from previous cruises later and check for sure. You should have no problem making your 3pm massage either.

Most likely we won't get off the in Cozumel and instead will enjoy the ship. We did the same thing last April and it was great with very few people onboard most of the day.

gomagic Thanks for the info, I think we have decided to get off the ship do some shopping and then head back for lunch, pool time before our massage.

Thank goodness I am not the only one having strange dreams, I dreamed Mike forgot to grab the suit bag with or formal night clothes in it and i had to shop in Key West!!! :rotfl2:

:dance3::dance3: WAHOOOOOO it wonlt be long now until we are all cruising!!! :dance3::dance3:

Wow time is just FLYING by! We're interested in the meet up but this will be our first time on the ship so we might still be wandering around. :goodvibes I guess if we don't make it we'll just hope to run into everyone at some point.:confused3

We don't have much in the way of excursions planned, not much looked like it would interest our kiddos. DH will be scuba diving in Grand Cayman so the kids and I might take a taxi to the beach and hang out at one near on of the hotels for a bit. Not sure what else we'll do but I think our plan is to stay on the ship in Cozumel, maybe get off for a bit in the morning to just check out some things close to the ship and then go back and use the pool.

I went through the kids clothes I bought at the end of the summer, ds4 has tons of stuff that works but most of ds6's stuff was way too big (what was I thinking??) so I had to go shopping. (darn):lmao:

Can't wait to see everyone in 12 days. :cool1:

I cant believe that we are so close. We leave next thursday. when is everyone leaving

what state are you leaving from and where are you staying before the cruise

we are coming from chicago il and we are staying friday night at baylake towers

Coming from Ohio and staying at Beach Club Thursday and Friday.

we are coming from california on thursday & staying at the comfort inn & suites, can't wait!

Intro -

We will drive down Thur afternoon to beat the crazy traffic on Friday. We plan to spend Friday at the space center.

DH, me, DD 10 and DS 9. Looking forward to a great cruise!

We've been on this same itinerary in 2008 and love it. I had a very detailed trip report and copies of Navigators at the time. Not sure how much has changed.

I've been to Cozumel many times for week long vacations. Cozumel is very safe. Taxis are plentiful. There's a great "national park" where you can swim with dolphins or just relax on the beach, sip a fruity drink under a cabana or swim in a pool. http://www.cozumelparks.com/

For shopping in Cozumel, the best store (huge with great gifts) is a short taxi ride away called Los Cinco Soles: http://www.loscincosoles.com/mainwelcome.htm
The areas right near the port are extremely over priced and junky.

Grand Cayman - Captain Marvin's Stingray City excursion is great. We were very pleased and loved the stingrays! Bring a waterproof camera!!

Key West - Frozen Key Lime Pie Dipped in Chocolate...a MUST!!

I should get packing. I made a Shutterfly photobook with all the pictures from our first cruise. I hope to have the book autographed this time if I leave it at guest services.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Driving from Ohio starting Thursday evening. Staying in Orlando with our CM daughter on Friday, who will drive us to the port on Saturday! :thumbsup2

WOW how great that your daughter is a CM!!!! :thumbsup2 One of my friends just became a CM!!!

We lived in Beavercreek, Ohio for 4 years.... so we have driven from there to the world a few times!!! DH was stationed at WPAFB.

Safe travels to everyone on their trip to the port next week!!!! :)
