April 2, 2011 - 7 Night Western Caribbean

:scared1: The entire ship is sold out! That makes me freak out just a bit. Now I'm really worried about being able to get a cabana on Castaway.

Here is a list of our excursions:
Key West - Snorkel & Dolphin Watching Adventure
Grand Cayman - Island Tour & Snorkel w/ Stingrays
Cozumel - Dolphin Swim at Dolphinaris
Castaway - fingers crossed we can get a cabana

If anyone is scheduled for any of these let me know.

I believe that you can order her a cake and they will deliver it to your room...

I know your message wasn't to me but I thought I'd jump in to confirm that you can indeed do that. Our DS will be turning 4 on embarkation day and we were able to order decorations & a cake to be waiting in our stateroom for us upon arrival.

You can also let the dining staff know it is the birthday and they will bring a cake to your table at no additional cost (note that it's not a predecorated finished cake; it's a large section of a sheet cake - from the pictures I've seen here though, I think it's still a very nice presentation!)

It will be great that all the girls can meet each other at the DIS meet, even if they don't talk alot on facebook. i think its just a relief to my DD that there are some nice girls her age. Are any of them doing the teen CC excursion?

re the inroom cake,i considered doing it but not sure that we would actually eat it as there is so much good food on the ship. i did request the dining room cake though.

starting to pre-pack now!

I'm planning on running this. But fair warning.....I'm not a marathon runner and it would be a miracle if I actually ran the entire thing. DH will more than likely run as well.

Would love to meet up beforehand.

I can run it my knee will not hold up

We've been on 3 other Disney Cruises (2 of them this same Spring Break week) and all 3 times the ship's been sold out. The busiest places on the ship are the pool areas, especially on sea days. We always pick one port to just stay on board and enjoy the less crowded ship. Getting seats for shows can also be tricky on a full ship. Get to the theater at least 30 min. before the shows start.

Since we've done this itinerary before, we really don't have any big excursions planned (we did the dolphin swim at Grand Cayman last time.) Thinking of renting jet skis in Key West. Planning on walking around, shopping in Cozumel. We didn't get off the ship there in '09 because ours was the first DCL cruise allowed to dock after Mexico was on lockdown for weeks from H1N1. Needless to say, we were a little hesitant to step foot in Mexico, especially with the kids.

I've got all our clothes ready to go. I purposely dress my two boys alike each night for dinner just to make things easier (i.e. in matching polos.) Don't laugh at me, but I make a chart of what each of us is wearing every night for two reasons: 1. So we somewhat coordinate (i.e. don't clash in pictures) and 2. So we don't have to think "What are we wearing tonight?" It just helps ease my "Mommy" stress having all that planned out beforehand. Even my husband thinks it's great to just look at the chart and say, "Okay, I'm wearing this tonight!"

wow, time has flown! we were in the car earlier today and my daughter reminded us we have a little over two weeks to go! guess it's time to break out the summer clothes and see what still fits!

we're doing the caymen island tour and cozumel highlights/mayan ruins. for key west we're just going to hop on the trolley and play tourist.

so the meet is at the promenade at 2:45, right?

That's too funny- I'm not a marathon runner either, for sure! I'm a casual "runner" (if you can really call it that), running anywhere between a 10:30 and 11:00 minute mile, depending on how many hills I have to tackle. I like flat courses! I'll try to catch up with you at the meet on the first day!

Sounds like a plan :thumbsup2

Looks like we are gaining quite a bit of interest in the meet at 2:45pm in the Promenade Lounge on boarding day.

Do you think we should do name tags or something?
Something with our DIS name and then real name?

I'll keep a list and print them out.

So if you plan on coming to the DIS Meet send me a PM with names of your family members. I'll include your DIS name on the tag as well.

I'm getting so excited :yay:

My family is interested in meeting new friends at the meet. My niece has met a few girls on here (she is 13) and we also have a 5 year old little girl and two 18 year old boys that are going.....so look for us at the meet!!:flower3:

Hi everyone...I have exciting news!
I took Bella (my 6 year old daughter) to her Daisy girl scout meeting tonight. At the end of the meeting I found out that another little girl scout and her family will be on our cruise, the same week! Neat, huh?
I do not know them. Only met the mom once before but Bella atleast is familiar with the daughter. She is 6 and has a sister that is 10 years old.

And, I am so very excited now learning that there are going to be plenty of other girls on the ship that are about my two daughter's ages. I know that they will meet and become great friends with them!

Chloe, Tess and Bailey...I promise that I will get Courtney on Facebook very soon! We run out of free time after school with our busy schedules.
