April 2, 2005 Magic-First DCL cruise-anyone going?

My kids are 7 and 4 and I can still get away with the closet thing. They still think the gifts are brought down the chimney so it has not occured to them to look. Just in case though, I have them in the closet in the guest room and that room is locked for most of November and December. When they are old enough to unlock the doors themselves, I may padlock that door and keep the key with me always!

Those days will be here before you know it! Kids are ingenious about figuring things out, so when you least expect it........ :earseek:

A good place is if you keep in boxes in a storage shed or garage that are always there. Sneak stuff into those :) I normally just wrapped the stuff when i get home so if they are discovered they still won't know ;)

Is it sad that in the middle of winter I just went out and bought stuff for the cruise?? Got a semi formal (little black type) dress from Penny's..couldn't beat that deal. And shockingly found two sundress' on the clearance rack at Walmart...$1 each!!!! :earseek:

I still have to pay for the cruise too...eek. Won't be going shopping at the stores again for another 4 months!

Come on double digits!

It is almost time to pay off the cruise  January's going to be a very expensive month!! Oh, well! Nice thing is, when we're all on the Magic having a blast, the $$$ we paid will be a distant memory!!

Just decided I would check the thread to see if we had hit double digits yet. Sometimes the times just goes by so fast, but now it seems to be crawling! I really find myself ready for Christmas to come and go so I can use the guest room to pack for the cruise. I'm usually so depressed when the holidays are over, but I just can't wait this year. Oh well, back to life, just thought I would check to see if a few days had gone by without me realizing it!

Well, we are a step closer to the cruise. I took my former MIL to get her passport about a week and a half ago. We didn't request any special speedy delivery or anything and she got it in the mail today - only took 1 1/2 weeks. I'm so amazed. That was quick! She called to tell me and now we are so ready to go on a cruise. It's her first cruise. I think my DS(soon to be 11) especially is thrilled, I think he wants the priveledge of showing off everything to her. We've only sailed the Wonder but I know he'll act like he knows about the Magic just as well.

My passport only took two weeks when I sent for it back in October. It is unusual that they come back so fast. Mine didn't even go to the hub it should have..went to New Orleans. It appears they're spreading the load out.
Works for me. We had a soldiers passport finally come back after 10 weeks. It was rushed as well, so we should have seen it in two weeks. Such a mess! Working with the system day after day you won't believe how lucky your MIL and I were to get back a regular travel passport so quickly!

Keeping happy thoughts going about cruise :) Did buy a new gown ...couldn't resist. My mother saw it and proclaimed it to be a cinderella gown. What was hilarious is I went into Kohl's the next day and walked by the shoes. I found my glass slippers to go with it :) She got such a kick out of that..they were clear heals. I couldn't believe they even existed :) Now I just chuck the cruise off as being fate. One of the older gals at work said I should have my prince charming by the time I get off the boat :rolleyes1

Anyway..few more days to double digit time! Back to the daily headache.. :badpc:

I'm so excited! I got tagged, I have no idea when but I am so excited. I feel like a real member now! Just had to share that with you!

We'll be leaving for WDW in 2 days -- it's going to be COLD while we're there; it will truly feel like Christmas!! Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

anlashokna,

Wow - 10 weeks rushed - I'm very thankful for the less than 2 weeks response - and it did come from New Orleans like yours.

Love that you found your dress with the perfect shoes. I'm hoping that my formal dress still fits after the holidays. I look forward to dressing up, I just hope I'll be able to find something for my kids as the time gets near. If I bought them anything now, they'll have outgrown it in a couple of months. I don't get many chances to really go out on the town. :cutie:

RachelTori,
Have a great time at WDW. We're envious!

I had to check the Disney site to see how much cruise prices have gone up since I booked. It appears our sailing no longer has any quad room left. It seems you can only book if there are 3 or less in your room now. Makes me doubly glad I booked back in March now. Our ship is filling up. Will be doing the double digit dance soon.

Before it get crazy busy for everyone, Merry Christmas. Hope the holidays are good for each and every one.

Merry Christmas to all...

double digit dance .. :Pinkbounc :cool1: :jumping4: :jumping3: :bounce: :jumping2: :jumping1: :thewave:

Dancing right along with you!!! :cheer2: Hope everyone's having Happy Holidays! Before we know it, the final payment will be made and we'll all be packing!!

:cool1: :cool1:

We are doing the double digit dance at our homes also.

Christmas morning I delivered the final clue in the treasure hunt which led to two pirate type flags hidden in the garage and under each flag was a treasure chest. The girls brought the chests inside and opened them on the count of three. Amanda figured it out as soon as she saw the "Magic Happens" countdown clock but Madeline had to read the entire letter before she understood. Then there were shrieks of delight and screams of joy. Since then I have answered a million questions from my two princess: princess:

Their Dad captured the moment with some digital pictures and I will try and figure out how to post them this weekend. Actually, Amanda is going to help me as it is her camera and I am totally at sea with photos of any kind.

I also have booked airfare so our plans are close to complete.

Hope everyone's holiday is as happy as ours has been.

Ahhh - can't wait to see the pictures! How neat, you pulled off the surprise! What a special Christmas this was for your nieces! :flower1:
