April 19th Western - the "Showers of Happiness" cruise

Hi MassDisLover! I think I sat next to you and your daughter at the Actors Q and A! We were such a small group that it made the Q and A much more interesting. When Matthew asked the group to guess which roles he played, I was the one who quipped in "The Prince!!" which of course he didn't. :rotfl2: But I did end up getting to know him after that

It was fun, wasn't it? Too bad more people didn't go. On Friday we were on the tram to CC with a lot of the performers. It was fun listening to them talk about "being in Canada" since we knew what they were referring to. My DD has big plans to get herself on the ship as a performer after college - we'll see!

Now you all have us wondering about poor Bruno, hmm, maybe other posters will talk about him in the future. Really great report, thanks for taking me back on the Magic!:)

I think about Bruno all the time! I really hope he makes it. He seemed like a nice guy, but very sensitive, and it seems like you have to be a little thick skinned (and a whole lot faster than he was! :rotfl: ) to make it in such a fast-paced job

Great trip report - makes me wish we were still there. Thanks for sharing!

We were on your cruise too. We saw Bruno in the Promenade Lounge one day in the late afternoon. We were TRYING to order drinks before our 5:30 dinner but he talked to us for so long that we never got any! The kids were dancing to the music of the couple that perform there and we were just killing time until dinner. We thought he was pretty funny- thanks for filling me in on him!
Great trip report - wish we were still on the Magic!

Thanks for the wonderful trip report Princess Gracie. I have a question for you.. did your DD18 go to the Stack at all, or did she just do the adult activities?
I am planning on surprising my son with a cruise this Christmas. He turns 18 the day we sail. DCL told me that as long as he's in high school he can hang in the Stack, but he'll have graduated the previous month.
He's pretty mature and relates well to adults, but he's also a kid at heart... so I'm not sure where he'll have more fun.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

She didn't go to the Stack at all. She had been there on previous crusies and loved it, but, like your DS, she's pretty mature. She was really happy to be able to go to the adult activities. Plus, our DD15 was just dying to get herself into the Stack, so maybe that had something to do with it. Nothing on Disney is ever more than an very mild R-rated, so everything we went to was very appropriate for her.

Several years back one of our sons had just turned 18 (he was a senior in high school) and he didn't do the Stack that time either. He had gone there on our first Disney cruise when he was younger, but , as he put it before we went "If the worst thing that happens is that I don't meet anyone my age and have to hang out with you and Dad, well, that will be OK with me." It was actually nice to have had those times with our older kids.

Thanks for your feedback. He's a kid that likes hanging with his parents... in small doses.
Yesterday he said he wants to plan something for his 18th birthday with his friends... told him he might "have to alter his plans a bit"... he can't understand why..
It's going to be a long six months...

Just came across your trip report and wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed it. I've cruised twice on the Wonder and will have my first cruise on the Magic this September (a double dip just after dry dock)!!! You have me very anxious to experience the 7-day!!!

You'll love the 7 day! We've done a couple short cruises and they just never seem long enough. ENJOY!
