Had enough responses that I wanted to get this up again before I forgot anything again. Bdwk97, I so deeply apologize for leaving off the information you sent me and beg you, kind and sweet heart that you are, to forgive this most unworthy servant.

Question about Fishlips.... something I've learned that worked well with the Scouts is when the kids are at one table and the adults at another. That way, they can have their conversations (am I the only one that gets tired of hearing discussions of YuGiOh and other inane things that bore me to tears but are soooooooo very important to the kids) and they're not bored with our conversation. Now, ths may not work if the kids are very young or if you're uncomfortable with it but I suggest for the 6 or 7 year old set and up that it might make the dinner better for us and for them. Not out of sight or hearing or anything, but just at the kids table. What'dya think?

Joan, please change us to to the Radisson Resort at the Port for the night before. Oh, and now we're a yes for Fishlips, if we can still get in there with you guys. Is that do-able? Is there room on the reservation? I sure hope so because I'd forgotten I said no when I figured we'd be trying to save some money and since King Charming has authorized this expense I'm very much looking forward to it.

And if you sent me something previously for the hyperlist and I don't have it on here then 1) please send me the info again or post it here and 2) forgive me for being a bootyhead and 3) get ready to find a wet noodle online

So what's in the mojito so we can practice too? I'll only have one or two (or three or four)

A mojito is really good light refreshing drink.

1st make a simple syrup
its easy to make Just take 2 cups sugar in a sauce pan and add 1 cup tap water.
boil for about 7 minutes make sure it doesn't boil over or dont spill it because it will hurt like H##L and we are not talking the Grand cayman islands here either lol when done, let the simple syrup cool on stove and then put it into a container and this can be stored in your fridge for about one week.

Ok now drinkie time

in a tall glass add the following:

2 slices of lime
4 fresh mint leaves ( I got these from my local supermarket in the produce dept)

with a back of a spoon mush the lime/mint leaves together a few times, this gets out the natural oils of the mint and juice from the lime.

fill your glass almost to the top with ice

add 3 tablespoons of the simple syrup that you made

1 1/2 oz of light rum (any rum will do)

top with either club soda or sparkling water your choice.

stir your drink together and enjoy

I'm looking at the spreadsheet. At the bottom I tallied how many will be participating in the Fish Extender and the Yankee Swap. I hope my math is right. This is what I'm thinking but I don't want to offend. I would like to clean up the spreadsheet by taking off those who have not participated or given me information. I'm not even sure they are still going on our cruise. What do you think? Not to be rude, it's just I think it would be easier to read. Let me know.

We're going too have to agree to disagree on Scarlett. I think I like it almost even more than the original. Scarlett grows a bit in the original but it's in this book that she finally moves past the scars of her youth and learns what love really is. I absolutely love this book. Now... if we talk about that wholly terrible movie they made from it that didn't even follow the plotline... I'm not talking about the usual license a movie takes with a book but a wholly different story from about the midpoint on and not even a good story ... that was awful!

I suppose as an English teacher, I tend to be more critical of things like continuity, characterization, motivations and such. When you're reading specifically for these types of things on a regular basis - especially with the classics - incongruence tends to stick out like a sore thumb.

I think if they haven't answered they're either not going or not participating in the events we've scheduled here. Either way, I don't think it would be rude to take them off the list. You're right... it would make it easier to read.

Sorry... but that sounds just like me when I come across a new computer program. No matter how well (or badly) it's written, I'm always mentally taking it apart and thinking of how I would have done things differently. I guess that's one of the banes of dealing with something in your field of expertice.... you [the collective you here... not you personally] can't really just sit back and enjoy a thing becuase you're always analyzing it.

My DD (12 - will be 13 in MAy) would like to pm with others her age. Anyone have kids same age - they could get to know each other before the cruise. Brittani is blind - but totally "normal" (as though anyone today is really "normal" LOL) in every other way. She'd like to talk to some kids her age and get to know them before hand.
