April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

Started making lists, sorting, and shopping. Using the lists here on the disboards as a guide. Overwhelmed to say the least. What are anyone's tips?
What type of shoes would you suggest for my 9yr old boy to wear to dinner with khaki or blue pants. Right now it looks like I am taking 4-5 pairs of shoes for everyone, that's 25 pairs:eek:

wow 25 pairs that a lot but then i never thought about how many shoes we took through the years:rotfl2: but i think we are learning as we have put a few cruises under our belts.

one thing we do now is only 1 pair of shoes for dinner so of course my color is black pretty much goes with anything and if not "NO PROBLEM MON":rotfl:
my son brings his boat shoes looks good with his khakis and my dd who is the flip-flop queen princess: well...guess you know for the most part what she'll be wearing on her tooties and my dh will only bring his brown work dress shoes as well. Yes, the shoes do add up and take up so much luggage space so we try to limit as much as we can. Then my family can bring sneakers, flip flops and for the most part all shoes will fit in our carry-on and IF and only If there is some room if someone wants to sneak another pair in, then I say " go for it" !!:goodvibes

:flower3:
All of a sudden I feel like the cruise is almost here and I have soooo much on my mind. So sorry, I have to vent.

I still don't have a computer, I haven't finished my door magnets. Dell says I probably won't get it until the the 9th of April.

Then to top it off, my husband came home from his business trip and told me he probably has to transfer to Chicago for his job. I have never moved! I've been in the same house since I was 5 (we bought the house from my parents). Talk about stress! :sad2: I definintely need a vacation!

It sounds like you need a  and a :drinking1

Shoes- Can my 13 yo wear flip flops to dinner with sundresses and capris?
I am bringing for DD7-crocs, dress shoes, white casual sandals, sneakers, water shoes, tink flip flops(must bring)
DD13-crocs, flip flops(2),dress shoes, water shoes, sneakers(maybe)
DS9-crocs, dresss shoes, sneakers, water shoes, boat shoes or fisherman sandals
me-crocs, 2 pr nicer shoes(brown and black), sneakers ( I will not be the fashion statement) maybe one pr flat sandals
DH-crocs, dress shoes, boat shoes ( no sneakers-exercise on vacation-are you crazy:laughing: )
Actually this looks better than I thought-I will not bring flat sandals and pared down the 13 yr olds selection. Thanks for the input.

Joan- I know how you feel, my husband should really be in Dallas, everyone else has moved. I told him I'm not going, he can commute Mon-Thurs and I'll stay here, but they need to increase his pay because I am not working:rotfl: I can't imagine how stressful it must be thinking of moving for you. My thoughts are with you.
Sorry about your computer-things breaking here too-TV and washing machine, phone and internet service. Just keep thinking about vacation.

Shoes, great topic.

Me: high heel strappy sandels, crocs, black leather sandels
DH: sneakers, Tevas, dress shoes
DD10: crocs, flip-flops, high heel strappy sandel
DS7: crocs, tevas, dress shoes

No more than 3 pairs each. Thats what we stick to. My DD wears flip flops to dinner and DH & DS wear Tevas and they are fine. :thumbsup2

Shoes- Can my 13 yo wear flip flops to dinner with sundresses and capris?
Absolutley! My girls wear flip flops all the time. My oldest wore silver flip flops under her prom gown last year! My husband (and sons when they went with us) will wear sandals to dinner with his khakis, he'll probably only actually wear shoes on formal and informal night.

Shoes are a big problem, I wish I could be more like Anty and just take 3 pair, but I'm just not that good. What 3 would I take???? :confused3

I'm grateful that we aren't limited to the 1 bag per person restriction that some arilines have institiuted. I'd never be able to do it, I'd have to pay the $25.00 for the second bag for sure.

It snowed here again last night (we are in northern MA at a very high elevation). It's really getting to be too much!

BTW, we got switched to main dining this week, and I did book the beach club day in Cozumel. It all can't come soon enough!

MassDislovers-Wishing for snow here, only 1 snow and it was small. We actually were supposed to be skiing in Vermont this weekend, but home dealing with broken TV and supposed to be cleaning out garage/basement. Enjoy it for me.

Everyone, thanks for the responses, flip flops for DD and maybe sandals for DS. Can take one thing off my shopping list. Keep the packing ideas coming.

Question-can't figure this out and I'm computer illiterate. How do I only quote 1 or 2 lines from someone's post in my reply or do lines from multiple posts in a reply?

ok...half way down the SECOND page! What happened to our momentum?

FISHLIPS @ 7pm on Friday April 18th. I will be making reservation within the next week or so. All the people who posted about the time agreed that 7pm was better.

unfortunitly we can't commit to fishlips on friday night you see my dd has her surfing lesson and when I called ronjohn to book it they told me her lesson could be around 3 pm give or take an hour or so she has a 2 hr lesson planned & it all depends on the tide for the good waves. If it is later I don't want to show up late and hold everyone else up because of us.

would it be ok to come in and say "HI"and maybe grab a chair (if there is one available ) and have a drink :drinking1 or two with guys???

I'm confused about the new dining rotations - is it permanent now or are they just trying it out to get ready for the repo cruises? Does this mean that all our carefully planned Palo nights might not be on the "right" night now? :confused3

Hi all,

Been busy, busy, busy.... got the website back up thought. Hope to have some folks visiting it soon. It's lonely out here on the web all on my own :-) :-)

Regarding quoting just a few lines... what I do is hit the quote button and then delete everthing but what I want to quote. Just make sure you leave the [] marks around the [QUOTE:....] and the [/QUOTE]. That's what lets the system know how to put those up on the page. Doing multiple quotes is more difficult because if you want to correctly attribute the person being quoted you have to hit quote on each of their posts and save the opening quote. I usually save it to notepad. Hope this is making some sort of sense... I just woke up. Decided today was going to be my lazy bum day.

Hadn't even though about shoes. The guys will have their sneaks and maybe flops and probably water shoes for Cozumel if nothing else. I expect to be wearing flip flops every day except for formal night (wearing my wedding shoes) and semiformal night (still have to find something red and strappy) and I'll have water shoes for cozumel too. Hadn't even thought about that. Since we're driving down we don't have the airline restriction but I'm trying not to have toooo much to pack.

Joan, sorry to hear about your stress. Not good timing. Moving isn't so bad... I can't imagine being in the same house for years. I'll bet you've accumulated a bunch of stuff.

Gotta run... gotta help a friend with her website. Only 5 weeks. Gotta go look at our timeline and see what needs to be done.

Thank you! My husband travels to Chicago often, I know what that's like. That's why I work weekends only.

Just got off the phone with DCL. They told me my 6:00 dinner rotation would be PLLAPLA 4/19/ cruise date. HELP!!!!:confused3

That means that you'll eat at Parrot Cay (P) on the first night, Lumiere's (L) on nights 2 and 3 then Animator's Palate (A) on night 4. Then it repeats. Many say that that is the "best" rotation because it puts you in the more formal Lumiere's for formal and informal night (Monday and Thursday) and the Caribbean-themed Parrot Cay for Pirate Night (Wednesday) . Although to most people it doesn't seem to matter where you are, as the menu is the same in every dining room. Does this help?

Are you in Cat 1 - 3? Those are usually the only categories that can find out their rotation ahead of time.

We are booked for the April 19th cruise on the Magic. I have a 10 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. I am trying to meet someone who has a 7 year old that my son Zachary can hang out with at camp. He is a great kid, very outgoing and loves the camp(this will be our 6th Disney cruise). It would be great if he made a friend before the cruise that he could meet once we get on board.
