April 19, 2008 - Western - VERY Early Roll Call - Anyone??!!

Anyone interested in doing a precruise diet/exercise suport group? Let me know. I am having health issues that have caused me to put on more weight on top of already being overweight....just looking for a little companionship on the journey.

I'm up for that! I put on a formal the other day to see what it would look like and I looked a lot like a theater curtain!!! :rotfl2:

Did you book any spa treatments...I did a half a body massage..this time I am going for the full!

Also..I am the one who had started the conversations or the idea about a pre-cruise meet. I am not sure if I should be the one in charge in that I am not sure what we are doing the night before...we might be staying at Disney or we might just keep our plans as is and stay by the port...and then we could do a meet...but if we go to disney, we won't be there...so....
Is anyone out there interested in being in "charge?" TIA and my apologies.

Hope all is well with everyone. Happy New Year! Michelle

I though you were in "charge"

I'm doing the "hot stone" massage - I've always wanted to do it!

I definitely need an update on the ressie and the pre-cruise meet - I'm confused  I thought that was set up already. Just let me know when and where and we'll be there. I'll leave it up to all you wonderful "experienced" cruisers.

Where can I get good stuff to decorate our cabin door with?

Hey Michelle! I'm in for that. Also had health issues that created a 30lb surplus.
Although i would love one of these: :wizard:, I settled for a Leg Magic machine and have been faithfully staring at it every day as it rests in the corner of my livingroom. I haven't lost a thing yet:confused3

You've seen me in a bathing suit!

I'd like to try, but I'm not very good at loosing weight. I'd like to loose 10 lbs. before the cruise.

Hi Everyone,
I am really getting excited...and so are the kids. I too would really like to lose a few pounds before the cruise. I bought some aerobics DVDs last week and I love them; makes me feel 18 again.
We have had this booked for a year now waiting for our little one to turn 3. She will be three at the end of march but is terrified of Mascots. I can't believe we are bringing her on the Disney cruise and she is afraid of Mascots. If Mickey approaches her, she will freak out!! Now I don't know if she will be able to go to the kid's groups because I am sure the characters will be in and out of there. I hope she'll be ok in the daycare otherwise for a few hours here and there.

Hey... just a thought here. What about if we do some kind of "biggest loser" thing. Everyone states a goal of how many pounds they want to lose before the cruise. Whoever comes closest to their goal wins.

Wins what?

Well... we could have a special door magnet. Or maybe a special something on their fish. Or the rest of us could each contribute a few dollars towards their shipboard account to buy them a drink or two?

Just a top of the head idea for what it's worth. What do you guys think? Of course, I may be being too much the "hypermommy" here :-)

I actually think that is a great idea.

Michelle,
I havent been getting the posts in my email either. That is why I am falling behind in my daily reading. Anybody else having this issue? :confused3

BTW: DH and I are also trying to drop a few before the cruise.

I'm getting the posts in my email with no problem.

I'd like to be the biggest "cruiser" instead of the biggest "losser" :rotfl:
I'm game but I don't want to loose that much, maybe 10 lbs.

Okay...How is this for a weight loss club....
Cruisin' and Losin'

I think posting a weightloss goal is a great idea as well as some type of "prize". I also think it is key to have some type of daily "support" group to check into...

I AM IN FOR 30LBS...10lbs a month until the cruise. Who is joining me?

Michelle

Joan: as far as the pre-cruise meet..it was "planned" as an informal gathering for dinner at a restaurant by the pier. A phone call needs to be made to the restaurant a week or 2 prior to the 18th...I can't remember if they take ressies or not...I am leaning towards that they DON'T. As far as being in "charge", I did offer both to spearhead it and of course, I believe I was the idea originator...but now I am not sure where we are going to be the night prior to the cruise...we might be on Disney Property doing a park...therefore unable to do a pre-cruise meet. If we end up not going to one of the parks..we are in...I just thought that maybe someone else might want to consider doing the minimal legwork involved if it is still something people are interested in.

Michelle

As far as decorating doors...I have a set of mouse ears that I put around the round room number door sign to create a mickey and I would be willing to share with anyone interested..just let me know. The doors are magnetic so I buy self-adhesive magnet tape to use to put it up from a Michael's, AC Moore or office supply type store..

Also in the general cruise thread there is a door sign thread where people post their pictures of their door....

basically anything works...some people make signs for each day...you know port of call pics, mickey and minnie in formal wear, disney pirate stuff for pirate night, anything with your family names, personal celebration pages commemorating a birthday, anniversary etc.....

It can be as simple as the Home Depot Mickey Head paint color sample cards with your cabin member names on them to VERY ELABORATE...I will say most of them are computer graphic designs...Check out the door sign thread. I got most of my ideas from there...of course I forgot my signs at home:sad2: on our last trip..

I also made matching family shirts...with iron-on computer transfrer paper designs on Tees from Michaels. It is a cute and relatively cheap way to start your vacation celebration and it looks great in the embarkation pictures!

I think an onboard meet is the best bet. Did we have a time and location for that? The night before, we were going to be meeting family. I would hate to stand anyone up.

I'm working on the t-shirts as we speak. I'm going the lazy way and ordering from Zazzle.com

I love it!!!! Great name!!

</hypermommy sits here pondering whether or not she can lose 30 lbs before the cruise.... as her competative instincts kick in.....>

Yep... i'm in... 30 lbs here too. 10 lbs a month until the cruise. That's a do-able goal. I'll weigh in tomorrow at the gym and start tracking what I've lost.

I can't wait to see what I look like as only half a theater curtain!!!!

Hello Everybody

If I remember correctly, the time and place for the Dismeet was
2o´clock at the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3.
Is that still right.

My sister and I will be in Cocoa beach the night before and are planning to eat at Grills. But calling from Germany to organize it is a little expansive.
We will spend the day at KSC so I have no idea what would be a good time for dinner.:flower3:

Take care
Conny:flower3:

We wil be going to Grills friday night for dinner. Dont know if anybody wants to join us, but the more the merrier. :woohoo:
Wherever the dismeet is on sat., we will be there with bells on.:cool1:

2 also sticks in my head for some reason but I couldn't remember where. Now I know where to go :thumbsup2

Okay... with any luck at all (luck ain't gonna do it but if I get to the gym often enough I may have a chance) I'll be able to post this on my door with an indication of 30 lbs lost. At least that's my hope! :)
