April 18, 2010 - 4 night Wonder

Arrived home a few minutes ago. I have to call tomorrow to schedule an MRI, my surgeon is rather sure we are dealing with a rotator cuff tear, but wants me to have an MRI to confirm this. If, this is the case, I am looking at another surgery, but "NOT" until "AFTER" my birthday cruise!!! My body can fall apart, but I am not missing this cruise, I have my priorities!!! LOL!!! ;)
I am sorry to hear that you may be looking at surgery (pending MRI results). I know it probably isn't the news you wanted, but thankfully they can remedy the issue so that you won't have to deal with long term pain. A good family friend had some issues with her rotator cuff and was in constant pain, she had to have steroid injections. My thoughts are with you, and I am glad all of this WILL not hinder your birthday cruise:)

Thanks Carrie!!!

You got that right Ed, LOL!!!

I go this coming Tuesday at 6:30pm and have an MRI done, then go back to see my surgeon on April 6th.

Best of luck! You shouldn't have to work that rotator cuff too hard on the cruise at least!

Just have to be careful lifting those smoothies or drinks of the day! Andy - I guess you'll just have to use your right hand for those! :rotfl:

LOL!!! I posted my reply before seeing your post Ed. :lmao:

My surgeon was surprised the tear was in my left rotator cuff, he said the dominant arm usually gets the tear, and since I'm right handed, I guess I lucked out.

Just 3 more weeks to go, I can hardly wait, I soooooooooooo need to get away!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

wooooohooooooo......I dunno about you guys, but I am counting the days! All I can think about is this trip, nothing else. The night before we fly into Orlando, I am sure I will not sleep a wink :sail:

I'm with you Nightowl78! I can't wait too! I have a lot of work stuff to get through before we take off, and Easter, but it's going to be here soon! I've already started packing for me and the kids - which adds to the excitement!

After all the excitement of just getting to Orlando, I think you might be able to catch a few winks. You want to be rested up when you get on the ship so you can enjoy the first night. :dance3:

Wow! You're ahead of us. We haven't even made our usual list of things to take, let alone started to get things ready. Probably this weekend.

I think we will take that day we arrive in Orlando to rest! I am still waiting to hear where we will be staying on the 17th!!

You are definitely a step ahead of us also!

15 days!!! Whoo hoo! Question for those with some experience. We have a car and can get to the port whenever we want. I hear 9:30 is the time to get there in time for the doors to open at 10:00 to be there to try for an upgrade. I'm willing to do this but I'm wondering if there is any point, there doesn't seem to be any availability on our ship. If you try to plug in our dates on DisneyCruiseline.com you get no availability. So my question is, should I bother? We're in a Cat 9 now and would be looking to upgrade to a veranda.

Oh and I'm also wondering if anyone has looked into what movies will be playing while we're on board :)

If you are planning on parking at the port, the lot doesn't open until 10:00, give or take a few minutes, so I'm not sure that getting there at 9:30 would get you much. I have not driven to the port since they started all the construction for the new ships, but I've read a couple different versions of what to expect - 1) some people have reported that they won't let you drive up next to the terminal building, and they make you drop off passengers and luggage at the shuttle drop point at the street 2) others have reported that they do let you drive up to the building and then direct you to the parking lot. When we went last Thanksgiving, they were doing #2, so I'm not sure what to expect this time. I guess I'll find out when I drive over there...... :confused3

As for upgrades..... I looked the other day, and you are right, that our cruise doesn't even show up anymore, so it might be sold out. The only way to know for certain would be to call DCL, but I'm betting on a sold out cruise. Since a lot of schools are on break that week, I wouldn't be surprised.

Not sure what movies will be playing, but if you call the DCL reservations #, they can usually tell you.

:cool1::cool1::cool1: Only two more weeks to go until we get on that plane!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I can hardly contain myself.....:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yup...... two weeks from right now we should be in the air!

I guess it's time to start figuring out what to take with us...... I can be packed and ready to go in 30 minutes, but DW and DS..... that's a different story! ;)
