April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Yelena - the comment was definitely coming..."I'll be stopping by your room for my medical needs!" :rotfl:
Without fail it is always me that comes down with something right before we go on a trip. :confused3 In fact at work, whenever I get a bad cold or get sick they always ask me if I have a trip coming up! :)
Haven't caught anything from my kids yet this year - but it seems that the behaviorally challenged (Politically correct enough?) never, ever get sick or miss a day!! Even on days when it is pouring buckets or frigid cold and we think - oh we should be missing a few today and nope - they all come!!! :headache: :rolleyes1
Feel better soon! :goodvibes

:bday:party: Happy Birthday Sue! :bday:

It's the case here too....; last year, 3 days prior to our trip, my DH hurt his back so badly he could not sit for 5 min, forget about driving for 20 hrs:scared1:

:lmao: ....so true...after so many times reviewing sick policy I still get "my child has fever, but he is fine....i gave him motrin :sad2:"
Feel better soon! :goodvibes
:flower3: Thank you, I will, I have a trip to plan :cutie:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Have a magical day!!! party::bday::cake:

Just getting ready to catch up with all of today's Dream events, but first wanted to wish you a very happy birthday! :)

Thanks so much guys. :) It was a great day. Food day, that is. They fed me my favorite biscotti at work and my parents took me out for eggplant parmasan and spumoni last night.

Oiy! Treadmill and I bonded this morning and came to the agreement that we need to spend more time together! :headache:

High Tea and Palo Brunch are only held on sea days. Since there's only one sea day on a 4-night, those ressies are very difficult to snag online prior to the cruise. However, don't get discouraged if you don't get it now... you will have another opportunity to try to get one as soon as you board the ship. And if you still don't get it then, you can go on a waiting list. :thumbsup2 Be advised, though, that you can only reserve a dinner OR a lunch online.

Counting down the days........... :cool1:

Actually you can book 1 brunch, 1 tea AND 1 dinner online for each diner for Palo.

I have not seen Tea available to book online, not even the first day it was available. Tea didn't used to be available on cruises shorter than 7 days, but last year they added it to the 5 day cruises, not sure if they added it to the 4 day cruises or not. So there is a possibility it's not even being held on the 4 day cruises.

we will wave too :thumbsup2 :wave2:

I am so glad we will not be the only ones waving to Deb. :cool1:
We have never done b2b before, I hope it will be a quick off/on procedure. Are you lurking on 4/14 boards too?

Not really. I am having trouble just keeping up with this one and figured this one is the one where there is more chance to get to know people, rather than when we are exploring the ship for the first time in the quick three day hop.

For the first time ever I missed my 90 day mark for bookings, but I am calm about it because I think I have realized that most of my Palo ressies are re-booked on-board anyways (I book them at 90 days and then switch on board when I realize they suck due to rotations or other things) and there is always a way to get there and do it. They make sure and at least on this cruise, I certainly know I will be in the front of the line at the start of bookings on board! Hahhahah! :thumbsup2

I am really contemplating Remy's too! I really love the idea of dining in such a luxurious restaurant on board. Plus it's my favorite Disney movie!

:rotfl::rotfl:I have never seen "real" snow..a little bit of snow way up in the mountains but that's probably nothing;) not enough to make a snowman.

Way to rub it in Pricess Daisy!! :goodvibes

I saw the Christening also and thought it was fabulous. I got a message through FB that sent me a link that was great. The other ones weren't so wonderful.... :surfweb:

How many of you have looked at the Trip Reports for the Dream? There are tons of people who went on these "training" cruises and loaded up tons of pics! yay! :cool1:

Last, am i going to be seasick?? I wasn't on a Royal Caribbean cruise so I'm thinking the Dream is bigger - is that better??

How many days - 86?

My son Connor just posted for the first time on the Tween board. He seemed embarrased about it...kids weird, huh? He is using my login for now, if he posts often enough I'll have to send the paperwork in to get him a login.
I have 85 days on my countdown calendar - but we are leaving on 4/15...so add two days and I think we are at 87!!!
I too have seen all the posts and pictures. I can't wait to read the reports from people who cruise next week - when they start running the "real" cruises. I have read a few threads from people who are cruising on the MV and are disappointed with all the preview cruises. The one thing I have noted with these preview cruises is the areas that aren't open or the confusion from CM's or the training and learning that is still going on. Hopefully when the "real cruises" start next week I am sure these preview cruises will have given them a chance to have smoothed out some of the wrinkles.
The predicted snow is not such a threat here anymore! 1 - 2 inches expected! Come on - after three storms of 20" each last winter, 1 -2 is nothing! Should be in school no problem tomorrow!
Debbie

aggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet another snow day here in Western CT. 5th snow day in the past 11 school days. I am going INSANE officially now! (and to boot, it should of been just a delay!!!!!)

Dreaming of this vacation... I think its the only thing keeping me sane right now

:rotfl:

It really wasn't so bad - I am surprised they closed your schools; as a matter of fact, I just came back from CT (New Canaan, Darien), roads were very clean.:thumbsup2
We got a call at 5:42 AM :scared1: about 2 hours delay, which seemed appropriate but why could not they call a night before :confused3. DD ended up staying home bs I couldn't fit her delayed school start with my work and med appointment....:upsidedow
Now, please, please, please let them be wrong about NorEaster coming on Tue/Wend......:headache:
:grouphug: - together we stay strong, DREAMing and believing...:wizard:

we had our second snow day here in Mass. today. I live near the Cape so we haven't had as much snow as other parts of Mass. My husband owns a towing company so it has actually been a good winter for us. Every snow storm we have I can book another excursion! every snow day we have I keep busy on the boards learning all I can about the cruise!

Our 2-4 inches turned into barely a coating, but I'm not complaining.
Let's hope they are wrong about the Tues/Wed snow. I'm supposed to go up to NYC Tues. early morning with some friends to the Martha Stewart Show. I'm really looking forward to lunch at Junior's Cheesecake and then going to the new Disney Store at Times Square.

That's great! The store at Times square is very nice but small and crowded. All first floor is designated to Disney-NY theme (I got us a few nice t-shirts there:thumbsup2). Have fun! :woohoo: and make sure to book a hotel room bs it seems like you will be staying there overnight :upsidedow

If there's going to be that much snow we won't be going up.

A friend of mine worked opening day at the store and she said she loved the store.

So far they say it would start snowing in the late afternoon; you can enjoy the whole day (Tuesday) without snow! :thumbsup2 and then you will get to see "white NYC!" How often do you get to do that! :cutie:

In Annapolis, I think we had 5 snowflakes. So, no delay or day off!! So funny - last night on the news/weather they were trying really hard to make something out of nothing! They have also begun the hype for the Tuesday/Wednesday storm...We shall see! We have teacher workdays next Tuesday and Wednesday. Curious to see what will happen when it is just the staff that has to go in!
Headed to NJ tomorrow! Connor and I are going to visit with my parents and Asia. We have lots of cruise planning and FE crafts to be making. Looking forward to a weekend with nothing to do but hang with family! Leaving DH at home (this is becoming a pattern) - he has a long honey-do list that he wants to work on!
Stay warm!!

Unfortunately I've gotten to see a white NYC the last couple of years. I seem to get tickets when there's snow in the city. :confused3
I'm hoping that's still the same forecast when Monday rolls around.

Sounds like you will have a fun weekend.
That sounds familiar, leaving DH at home with a honey do list.
