April 17, 2011 on the Dream

Hey Scootch and Allaboutdisney,

Definitely try to get your daughter to log in Scootch. My daughter (BaileyCheer) and AllaboutDisney's daughter have just started to chat. :chat: There's nobody else on yet, and nobody at all yet on the Teen forum. (My daughter has been at her friend's in Jersey and NYC these last few days). :sad1:

But it's early yet...

Last night I went on a site to look at photos of Palo's brunch.
3 letters - OMG!! The food looked so yummy, especially the seafood. Totally signing up for those oysters!

OK everyone - get all your kids onto that forum so they can all meet each other :grouphug:!

Talk soon,
Sandy

oh, ps - school starts on the 31st. Can't wait because I work out of my house - not easy when you have a bored 11 year old hanging around in my office all the time! :hyper2::crazy:

Hey jilljill....what novel did you write? I just noticed in your tag that you wrote, "I had to go and write a novel", which one?

Have a safe drive and say hi to Mickey for us!

Jill's tag fairy tag may be referring to an extra long post too (I tend to make super long novellas out of my posts sometimes too), but if she did write a book, I would love to know also!

They are taken, by the Tag Fairy, from posts you write, or the way you had your name appear. Mine comes from when I first signed up oh, 8 years ago or so, and at the time I was playing competitive soccer. I wasn't though any more until this year and I started again! So again, I am a soccer Mom! The other three are from stupid... or more like, funny, things I said in posts. I actually don't know if the tag fairy appears anymore? Colors under your screen name are controlled by moderators or Tag Fairies. The Tag Fairies Tag you with these colors or sayings.

Hi everyone!

Just popping in to say hi!

Yup, my tag comes from writing a post that was too long on a meets thread a long time ago. We were doing a pirate run on a 1000 post and I lost out because I wrote too much in a post.

The Tag Fairy is still around and was last seen last month and again in June. So you never know when one of your clever or silly or strange sayings will show up as a tag.

We arrived about 12:15am this morning. It was a relatively uneventful drive with 2 small back-ups on I-95 just south of Wash DC and then west of Orlando on I-4.

Heading to Epcot in the morning. The MK fireworks just ended a couple of minutes ago, the house shook at the end of them.

I wanted to jump in.....my husband and I will be on this cruise....alone....:goodvibes...We would love to join in on the FE fun. We have a family cruise booked for June.

Have a great time in one of my favorite places in the world! :lovestruc We're trying to work out a quick weekend trip for sometime in December. :thumbsup2

I have to admit that I  love the Tag Fairy! :) My first tag was after I'd been away from the boards for a couple of years and had just started posting again. My second tag is a mystery because at the time I didn't have an iPod, and I spend very little time listening to music. :confused3 I'm pretty sure the Tag Fairy had me confused with someone else on that one. And the third tag is because I was explaining the virtues of the elusive, but magical, Tag Fairy to someone else in a thread, and had also mentioned my love of the 50's Prime Time Cafe's s'mores dessert. I'm pretty sure I was drooling while writing that post! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: All three tags were completely unexpected, which is part of the allure of the Tag Fairy! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 The thumb maybe up on my smilie, but it's GREEN with envy! It's been over a year for us and we don't usually skip a year, so we're itchy.

:welcome: Ribren! Two cruises in one year, woohoo.

We actually start school the first Thursday AFTER Labor Day. Always.

It's a week later than the rest of Massachusetts. The teacher's union negociated that for the teachers who wanted to work a summer job. Many employers on the Cape won't hire you if you don't commit to working until Labor Day, cause they have it hard enough with the college kids going back to school in the middle of August.

The kids love it in August, but are sad :( in June. However, we, many times, have less snow days than the rest of MA. Unless it's a Nor'easter, we usually get bypassed and end up getting out the same time as the rest of MA.

Hey everyone--we just got back from a week at Ocean City, Md with my whole family. We had a great time, until everyone started getting sick . We have a sore throat/nasal congestion/cough thing going on. DS got sick in Wednesday and I'm just starting with a cough today :sad2:. We ended up leaving this morning--a day early. Weather started getting iffy anyways. We had a glorious Saturday thru Wednesday though. We haven't been to OC in 4 years and it's really become quite the party town--a little too much IMHO. I think next time we'll check out somewhere else--change is good and it gives DH a chance to add to his shotglass collection LOL.

I just caught up on all of the posts--DS is excited about the tween thread so he'll be checking that out. Hope everyone's doing well, enjoying summer.

When does school start for everyone? DH starts on the 20th, my girls on the 24th. Wish it were after labor day!

My daugter starts her first year of middle school on August 31 :teacher:

We usually start on Thursday after Labor day, but this year there is an exception bs Jewish Holidays start on Thursday, 9/9. Thus, kids go to school on 9/7, and then schools will be closed on 9/9 and 9/10  Our son starts his second yr of college on 9/7 as well. He is hoping for extra hours at work bs most college kids would leave after 8/20. ;)

We just spent a wonderful day at NYC to celebrate our anniversary- massages, dinner, theater, Empire state building..... 24 hours but feels like a real vacation. Happy anniversaries to ALL (any month :)!!! :love:Cherish everyday with your loved ones just as you do on your anniversary day :dance3:

Our DD is 9, will be 10 in January (going to 4th grade). Is she too young to join Tween's chat?

Have a great weekend! :grouphug:

The tween board is going strong with my daughter (baileycheer) and Allaboutdisney's daughter, who is very sweet and fun, btw! They are hitting it off nicely and already making plans to hang out! They'd LOVE to hear from all other tweens, as well as soon-to-be-tweens (younger than 11) :grouphug::chat: so please tell all your kids to join in.

Bdink, where in CT? We're from Trumbull and share your opinion and history with Ocean City. We've been several times, but haven't been back in about 8 years - specifically because it's gotten way to partyish and un-family like, for lack of a better word. Now we've started going to the Cape (Pershing will be happy) or to Long Beach Island in NJ (again though - not there in several years).

Just an fyi....... if anyone is planning on flying to MCO on jetBlue for the cruise, I received an email that they are opening up their April schedule this coming Monday (8/16).

Great news! My DH and I will be flying jetblue into MCO before our cruise to spend a few days at the World. Glad to hear that their rates will be posted so early.

 That's too bad. I hope you feel better. Sending virtual 'chicken soup' your way. :wizard:

:yay: We are estatic about how good the summer's going! :yay: It will definately get us through the winter this year. (and us to WDW & DCL) With people just poring in both doors getting cafe drinks, ice cream & chocolate, you'd never know there was a recession on.

I finally went to the beach this week and it was wall to wall people from the water's edge to the dune! :scared1: I wondered what was gonna happen when the tide came in.

One thing I will be happy to get back in a month is the bike trail! I gave up exercising by biking in June because I was either slowing too much for little kids or in danger of being mowed down by those 'pro' bikers doing the whole Cape. :dance3: My treadmill seemed alot safer until Sept. 9 when I will be biking to work again and saving my gas money for WDW. :cheer2: yay!

I have SW gift certs. and love vouchers, but I love to look and compare. Do they charge for luggage or are they like SW?

The last few times we've gone to FL, it was less expensive to fly Southwest from either Manchester or Providence, but we have over $450 in credits with jetBlue from price reductions on our tickets for our WDW vacation next week. It would probably be cheaper to fly Southwest again, but not when jetBlue has that much of our money and we have to use it within a year.

We're from Waterbury...

On the way back from OC we drove up Rte 1 and I really liked the look of Bethany Beach in DE--maybe next year we'll check it out.
