Would it be okay for me to start a list and plan a DIS meet for this group? It will be our 8th cruise (6th on Magic), and I don't mind keeping the list.
Usually meeting up after the Safety Drill at Promenade Lounge (if you want a quiet fast meet) or on Deck at the Sail Away (loud and long) is best. Having a name tag helps out also.
IF anyone wants to hook up with another family for dining reservations, there is a procedure that one family will contact
DCL with the other family's name and reservation number and they will be dining mates for the cruise. Often done and usually well received by both families since friends have already been made, etc.,etc.
Okay, to start the introductions - I'm Rae, 48 year old USAF Veteran/RN turned playwright turned horsewoman and homeschooling Mom, with me on this cruise is my best friend and husband Tom (53, computer technology director/USAF veteran) and our son Michael, age 8.
I'm from upstate New York, Tom is from Detroit and Michael was born in Indiana. We live in a small town and like it - our lives are horses, horses and horses plus traveling!
We have no excursions planned at this time for either St. Maarten or St. Thomas - since we have been there many times before - but are considering Trunk Bay at St. John.
I will do my best to answer any and all questions, but I am no expert at anything so please don't hold my feet to the fire!!!
We will be driving down from Indiana on Easter Weekend, staying near Universal Studios then spending Friday night at Days Inn in Cocoa Beach so we can visit Shirley and Norm (The Perfect Gift - the best place to get your gift baskets and flowers on the ship!).
I've got some Navigators from May 03 (Eastern) that might answer some questions, but then again, things change on the Magic, so it might not be that accurate.
So shall we begin this adventure!!!!
Rae
