April 15, 2010 Disney Wonder

I'm booking the Atlantis excursion today. I am so excited. Is anyone else booking an excursion today?

Nope, never cruised before so I have to wait till the 75 day mark at the end of this month. I hope I can still do the things I want to. :confused3

Well its up in the air for us as to what we are doing on Nassau...Atlantis is just too much $$ for us since when we get off the cruise we are doing MK, Sea World, Aquatica & Busch Gardens....plus of course more dinners (one being 'Ohanas :woohoo: ).

I am going to book Parasailing (I hope its still available) and probably use of the floaties. The kids want to Kayak around the Island, so we'll see:)

I do agree that Atlantis is alot of money. I think my mother is going to stay on the boat or do a different excursion. She doesn't swim. I did think about just booking a couple of rooms at the comfort inn to save money but I wasn't sure how much time it would take checking in and then walking over to Atlantis. DH isn't so patient at times.

I booked Atlantis, but might end up going with Comfort Suites. Not much price difference. Also booked the Castaway Cay package with snorkel gear, bike rental and tube rental.

Less than 90 days!!! I need to start organizing the fish extender list soon.

What info do you need from me for this? I don't even have the fish extenders yet. We only have like 88 days left. I need to make magnets for our doors too. The kids can always find the rooms, it's the grown ups that have trouble.

Just pm me with your cabin number and the number of people in the cabin, (and their ages and gender if you want). Some people do something different for kids versus adults and some just do one thing.

I have my magnets from last time. Every time I sit down to plan, I wish we had a 4th night. :) I may have to stay up all night to enjoy the verandah any and there's way more yummy food than we have time for.

I'll PM you our info as we already have our room assigned. (shhhh.... secret porthole room lol) :woohoo:

We had a secret porthole once. It was great! Now DH insists on a verandah. He likes to sit out there and read. I want to be out doing stuff. I think I'll have to stay up all night one night just to get a chance to sit out there. :)

Everyone gets notified of their cabin number at some point before the cruise, right? I didn't think about that. We've never done just the category guarantee route before.

I was just perusing the fish extender thread again in hopes of getting some creative ideas! Some of those are so incredible. I love the pirate ones.

I bought some fabric (well, really a couple of disney curtains at thrift shop!:rotfl:) and thought I would sew something, but my sewing machine hates me. I just made dd a crinoline & spent more time cussing at the machine than actually sewing!

Have any of ya'll made fish extenders yet? I'd love to see them! It is getting closer & I can't wait!!

The 30th (next sat.) is the 75 day mark, can you book your excursions starting Friday night after midnight or do you have to wait until Saturday morning? Also can you pre-pay your tips as well via the same site you do the excursions?

Once your account is paid in full and that 75th day hits you can book the excursions online. I made payment and was able to book few minutes later. If my memory is correct, you don't pay for the excursions now. When we go on the cruise the charges for the excursions will show as a room charge and the tickets will be in your stateroom when you first walk in. The tips you can pay as a room charge too if you'd like but on the last day you will have envelopes in your room with a list of suggested amounts for each person you tip. I just put cash in the envelopes. I think you can call DCL to add money to your account ahead of time. I just use my southwest credit card at check in and they charge that everytime the bill gets to be a certain amount. Between the credit card and my DD (swa employee) we fly for free quite often.

Nice, we used my Delta points to fly down for free, prices were $539 r/t non-stop from Boston when we booked about 11 months out, I think they went up since then too. I paid for the cruise last September so I'll be ready to book now at 12:01am Friday. Although I think we are gonna skip the dolphin thing now and look for something else maybe as it is quite expensive and with such a short cruise we are thinking we might just explore the ship when everyone is off doing their thing in Nassau, plus the recent robberies on the segway tours didn't make us feel all warm and fuzzy either. We decided that for a little more money a day at Discovery Cove would be a better option for us on a future trip when we do the non-disney trip to universal/sea world perhaps next year. My kids have suggested the kids clubs might be fun for them and if they do that I'm thinking the adult area bar is where we'll head lol. :rotfl:

That's where we'll be, eating chicken wings, if I can get my kids go to the kids club.

We are doing Discovery Cove when we are done with the cruise, staying in Orlando for the following week, I think we are doing DC, Sea World, Aquatica, & Busch Gardens:) As for Nassau, we are going off the ship to go to the Pirate Museum and the Straw Market, then we are back on the ship...

OK, so far I have the info for 8 cabins for the fish extender exchange. If you're interested, PM me your cabin number and ages (you can just put DS9, for example, if you don't want to give names). Or just cabin number and number of people in the cabin if you prefer. Some people do something different for kids versus adults. Do we all have cabin numbers yet? I don't know when people who booked a "category guarantee" get theirs. I can add those in later. Got a busy couple of weeks ahead, but once things slow down I plan to go ahead and compile the list and get it out to those who have signed up so that we can get an idea of numbers. We can still add people after that, but I think it'd be nice to have some idea so that we can start picking things up as we see them. I know these last couple of months are going to fly!

I still can't get a better rate than $298 a night at Comfort Suites, so for now I've got Atlantis booked through Disney.
