Kimmie-

You know you are more than welcome to join my DH and I at Palo's. I wasn't for sure if I wanted to eat there or not just because of Ryan. But after talking to David, we won't be eating there until our 4th or 5th rotation. Palo also has the tea in the afternoon. Maybe we can send the kids to the club or they can hang out with my husband and we can go have tea at Palo. :)

-M

We don't find out for sure until checkin, but most of the time families with kids are APLAPLA

They don't officially assign it until 3-4 days before each sailing

When we get closer to make reservations, I can make a phone call or two and see what I can do

- D

Are you sure you don't work for Disney?

When we eat at Palo's that night does the club provide dinner for the kids? Oh yeah when do the kids have the PJ party with Goofy?

-M

NAh, i just keep Disney in business

On Palo, we go to dinner with the kids at our regular seating at 6pm - just don't eat

then we put the kids in the club for 2 hrs

then we go to a 7:30 palo reservation

the pajamma party changes quite often, they will list it in that days Navigator

Thanks David... I tried to get in there a few days ago and it was down! One of the reviews states it's a category 7... I paid for a category 5... that has to be a mistype don't ya think? :confused3 I wanted a mid-ship room and waited 24 hours longer than I should have to book and lost the Cat 6 midship room that I wanted and upgraded to a Cat 5 :bitelip: I've learned to book earlier!

I can't wait for 2007 rates to come out... then I'll book early, early.... and transfer it to 2008 Easter trip. (The inbetween year is to save for the next cruise!) :boat:

What a sweet offer... but I insist that you two enjoy your special dinner without a third wheel! I'm checking out the "single board" looking for another single Mom or Dad that might want to dine together that evening! :flower:

It is definitely a cat 5 room

you are basically midship

i have stayed "midship" and " towards the back

if you see my cabin this cruise, you can't get much further back

to me, you notice no difference in the way the ship moves, and the back cabins allow you to walk up easier to the Mickey pool, and topsiders for food, its a quick run upstairs to the ice cream and fruit bar as well

Nothing beats walking one flight up to the free soda fountains too

During prime time, the mid elevators gets soo crowded - we enjoy taking the other elevator banks

I have a great travel agent if you need one - she is out of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas - even though I am in NY - she has always been able to get great prices for me, and give me a big discount over the price Disney qouted me

Carol is my gal, she is the owner

www.dfwcruises.com

tell her you are friends with me, she will definitely take care of you

- D

David - Thank you so much! :love2: I spoke to two different TA's today. Carol, at your suggestion and another TA that was suggested by another DIS member... The first TA that I spoke to (NOT CAROL) was unable to save me any money, whatsoever!

Carol, the angel that she is... called me, explained how it worked, took my information and called be back within an hour with a HUGE savings!! The savings is big enough that it pays for the towncar from the airport to WDW, from WDW to the Port, from the Port to WDW and finally from WDW back to the airport the day after the cruise and AND one of our excursions. Wow... am I impressed!

She will be our Disney travel agent for life! :cloud9: Thanks so much for the suggestion! :grouphug:

I don't want to say told ya so, but ......... she is great !!

I always tell people on the boards to call her for an estimate .... no down side whatsoever!

Glad I was able to help - that is a nice savings to pay for 4 towncars and an excursion !!

The travel company her franchise is with is "Cruise Planners," one of the biggest cruise companies out there, so no issues at all

One of the other people talked about on the boards is Dana at MicDan.com

She is also a franchise of "Cruise Planners"

Glad I was able to help

Kimmie I am so happy to hear that you got a great deal, I love it when you get a great deal it makes everything so much better!! :cool1: What excursions are you thinking of doing anyway? We haven't made up our minds yet. Are you going through Disney or on the outside. I have heard you can get much better deals when you go on the outside rather than book with Disney. That will be our next hurdle to get over, deciding on what ones we want to do.

thanks for check those out for us. Since this is our first cruise I didn't know what to book. I think my husband ( his name is David also) would have preferred cat 4, but I wanted to save some money for other things. By the look of things our cabin will be just fine. :goodvibes

Thanks again for checking
Mary

Mary,

I'm torn on excursions.... I thought about the dolphin encounter, but worried Noah will freak :scared: at the last moment and all that money is lost... I posted about St. John or St. Thomas... and the different beaches... and I heard that Magen's Bay is the most gorgeous beach on our trip... but the snorkeling in Trunk Bay is outstanding! :fish:

I'm still researching!! I know we might skip St. Maarten just to have the ship and the pool to "ourselves".... :rotfl2:

What have you seen that you are interested in?

David (DH) really wants to the Orient Beach on St. Martain (the french side). :smooth: My friend did the dolphin encounter and said that it wasn't worth the money. If you do the encounter check to see what it would cost without Disney booking it. With Ryan only being 6 there is only a limited amount of things to do without costing an arm and a leg.

I will have to read up on some of the excursions. I hear that Turtle Bay at St. Johns is wonderful and so beautiful, but the ferry trip is not very good.

I know that there is a thread out there about excursions, maybe we better check that out. Of course there is always the disney guru David maybe he has some suggestions.

we always go to Megan's Bay on St Thomas - simply beautiful beach with rolling waves (easy for the kids) and you definitely do not need to go thru Disney for that one if you don't mind dragging your own lounge chair partway down the beach if you decide to rent them. After I come back from WDW, I will send you pics of Megan's Bay.

Cabs are waiting outside the ship - very easy to ghet to and cheap

We have done Orient Bay as well on St. Martin - OK beach, decent size waves - lunch that is included was nothing special, we might do a different beach this time - Tell your David that the French side was not so special - the "sights" were not much to look at - usually very old or very fat - LOL

The problem with going to Anguilla or St. John is that you waste so much time getting there and back, your actual time there is minimal - not how I like to relax on a Carribean beach.

- David

Thanks again for the information. I have told David that the only sight he is going to see is old and baggy. :teeth: I am glad that you mentioned that the lunch is just ok. I thought of having room service delivered the night before so we could just pack a lunch.

I don't really want to venture out to St. John's due to the long ferry ride and having Ryan with us. I think mainly we just want to play in the water and sand.

I want to go shopping in St. Thomas though- I hear it is quite an interesting time. What do you think?

What plans does your family have excursion wise?

-Mary

All three of our families should definitely do Megan's Bay together at St Thomas - just not thru Disney - the cab ride is very short and pleasant

It is a great kid friendly beach - and they have full food available - burgers, dogs, pizza, fries, etc...

We usually go there for 4 hours or so , then come back and shop

For St Maarten - we will probably try a different beach this trip, so many beautiful ones - have not even thought about it yet

- D

Count us in for Megan's .... everything I've read about it is wonderful!! I have a pic that I grabbed from somewhere but have NO IDEA how to post it! :rotfl2:

I stopped at Barne's & Noble tonight and read some travel books on St. Maarten and St. Thomas/St. John.... I'm just thirsty for knowledge!! :drinking1 Megan's is my #1 pic... If I remember right.. the travel book on St. John said that "the cruise ships haul hundreds of cruisers to Trunk Bay... " Isn't that the one that it takes so long to get to that you end up losing valuable time? :confused3

Not sure how to post a thread... but check out the "Pirate and Princess party" thread in the Main Cruise area...... sounds like an opportunity to get them close to Captain Hook and Cinderella without a TON of others around!! :goodvibes

I have to share.... Noah went to a county fair last week with his cousin (32) and his wife (27). When they came to the animal exhibits... there was a very large BULL.... and as we all know... ahem.... Bulls, being male and all... have HUGE, um.... things... down there...

So, my darling son... in his infinite innocent way... says... "Mike .... why does that cow have a big tongue down there between his legs and why is it hairy?" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl:

OH MY.... now, you would think... my intelligent, mature, grown up nephew that just turned 32 would explain... delicately... but accurately... what that "tounge" was... but... NO.... he could do nothing but laugh... with tears streaming ... and confirmed that yes, BULLS do have two tongues.... :rotfl2:

I guess they just grow that way here in Michigan!! :earseek:
