April 14, 2007 Eastern Cruise!

Well...as of today, we haven't received our Cruise Documents. Long story short...the travel agent lost them. She e-mailed me and said that they were going to request another set and have them sent overnight to her, but after contacting DCL just now, no request had yet been made to re-issue them.

The DCL agent I talked to said that since DH and I already completed check-in online, the only things in the documents that we wouldn't have were the Bahamian Immigration Registration Form and the Luggage Tags. All the other paperwork included (i.e., Cruise Line Signature form) could be printed by us from the on-line check-in website, which we already did. Is this true?

In addition, he said that the Bahamian Immigration Registration Forms and Luggage Tags can be easily obtained at the terminal. Is this also true?

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm very frustrated with the agent right now. This is not the only time that she's dropped the ball on us. Thank goodness we've been proactive in planning our vacation. We're not using her ever again.

Yes, you should be fine. Last time I ended up getting my documents the day I left. You can get everything you need once you get there. You would be surpised my how many people don't bring them or forget them or lose them.

You will be fine. you can get additional documents in the terminal. Luggage tags will just be a pain but I think the people working the drop off point had extras and you just put your room number on them.

Your responses make DH and I feel better. Looks like we're in good shape since we've checked in on-line. I still hope the TA does her job and gets us the docs. We'll see...

Just Checking in to see how everybody made out with this last storm. Here in Maine I got 14inches yesterday. I thought that winter ended a couple of weeks ago.

I just checked the 10 day forecast and next saturday in Orlando it is supposed to be sunny and 88 degrees. We just need to get out of New England to find the nice weather.

We just got rain where I am in Massachusetts. But it is too cold for April for me. I think I would have lost it if we had more snow.

I received my dismeet pin from Zazzle today. I'll be wearing the pin instead of the lime green shirts (which turned out to be a disaster)
I bought 3 shirts at AC Moore and tried to do the iron on transfers. Unfortunately, that didn't work so I then created the t-shirts on Zazzle. I then proceeded to check out and discovered that 3 shirts was going to cost 60.00 to basically wear one time. That is when I discovered the Pins.

Where I live in Massachusetts we got about 4 inches of snow UGH! My cousin who lives in central FL told me the weather has been nice 80's I'll be happy just to finally wear shorts and flip flops again.

What time do you all plan on getting to Port? Since we'll be staying at Ron Jon's for 2 nights I'm hoping to be at port between 10:00 and 10:30.

WOW....three more days of work! But who is counting!

I just wanted to share a little funny story with everyone to lighten your monday.

As anyone who has read my posts knows, my sister is a performer on the ship. So, this is our second cruise and we go mainly to see her...the 7 day cruise is just a very nice bonus! Anyway, on Saturday she called us telling us about the incident at the port. Even though I knew it would be OK, we are still always concerned. I mean, it IS my baby sister! So, we had been keeping updated with the saga most of the day. My sister called a couple of times...first with most of the Cast hanging out at Wal-Mart until they thought they might be able to reboard...then again sitting on the curb next to their entrance at the Stern of the ship. SO.... Finally I read the cause and I go into the computer room to tell my mother...who is, as often the case, playing computer Mah Johg.

Me: "It looks like the issue was with a package that was being sent to a crew member..."

Mom looks up at me as her eyes get bigger.

Mom: "You don't think it was the package I sent Ashley?"

Me: "Not unless you were sending some WiFi device to her"

ANYWAY, come to find out mother put together an Easter package for her that had a little stuffed bunny and some chocolate. Sending anything that is food is really difficult because they are VERY strict on what is allowed and what is forbidden. I have never been able to figure out a rhyme or reason. I can't send her a pack of Little Debbie cakes or whatever, but other stuff is allowed..its all very confusing. So, mother had that "moment" of thinking the chocolate we sent Ashley shut down the terminal and caused 2000 people to have their entire sailing delayed. Of course I told her "over some Hershey's?"

In the end all of the crew's mail was delayed until Sunday morning and the stage manager asked Ashley what she was getting...she said she didn't know since she wasn't expecting anything...to which she got the response...

"It was YOU!"

It wasn't, of course.

So, that's my little story to you this monday morning. I am happy to report I am over half way done with my packing.

Now if I can make it through 24 hours of work time ...

Ok guys, I can't believe my son (yensid1222) is sharing my horror stories. And I don't play mahjong garden often, I just paid the price to have it downloaded on Saturday!

Any way, yensid and Disney Mom will be in lime green on Saturday to meet everyone (that is if the cast member daughter/sister doesn't have any immediate plans for us)

We are looking forward to the eastern cruise as we took the western in February. My packing is almost done also, so it will just be ready for Saturday.

FINALLY...after one year of planning and chatting the cruise is finally upon us. Hope you all have a safe uneventful trip to FL this week. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Port, Pool or Dismeet.

Ok down to the last wire and guess what, we may have a chance a snow thursday. We leave early friday morning, so I have my fingers crossed that we have no problems.

My DD who is 6 has never had any problems with motion sickness before, but from what I have read, I think that buying some children's bonine to take with me is a good idea. Where can you buy this? I looked the other day and only found dramamine the orignal. No way!!! So any place that I can find it? I have a CVS, Walgreens, and Walmart in my town. I don't really have a lot of time this week to go running around so I thought I would ask where to get it. Thanks

CVS here in Texas has Bonine for adults and children. In general the Eastern cruise is rougher because you are farther out to sea. My daughter told me to be sure to bring that and my sea bands as it is has been rough sea on both cruises. She says Captain Thor (Captain Tom was on board in February) doesn't do the stablizer as much and she feels it in her room. She has a room at the very front of ship so I think she would be a good judge

We head down tomorrow night for the parks. If anyone sees a mom with 3 boys roaming about just call out pershing and see if I respond. You never know.

Otherwise, we'll be in lime green at the port around 10 am.

Just got switched to main dinning

That had been bothering me. I had main but rebooked on board in November for the savings and went on a waitlist for main. I just called and it went through. I am so happy!

I ended up ordering buttons so look for that. I bet you will recognize my kids since you are so observant and notice it when I change their picture.

Finally received our re-issued Cruise documents today. We're good to go.

We leave Thursday for Orlando. Almost done with packing, thank goodness.

MEDisneyfan...keeping my fingers crossed as well. Hope that everyone makes it safe and sound.

Thanks for the info on the rough seas, Disneymom7851. We'll be sure to bring Bonine for all of us. I was at CVS the other day and debated on whether I should buy sea bands. I didn't, but now I wonder if I should stop by tomorrow and get some.

Munchkinsmom: We have decided that if all else fails weather wise, we are going to drive all night if we have to. Don't want to, but will to get on that boat.

We changed our flights from Thursday to Wednesday because of weather...extra day at the parks but it was expensive...we are very excited and are in the middle of power packing and getting the last things we need...hope the weather doesn't cause any delays and everyone has a safe trip...even the Yankee fans....

Yogibigdog you said that you got changed to the main seating did you call to see or was the site updated? We have been waitlisted for late seating and are hoping to get it changed to the early seating...

Have a safe trip...only 5 days to magic...

As for motion sickness, my DW just picked up some Sea Bands????
Looks like a wrist band that's to help with motion sickness???
