April 13, 2014 - Bahamas Dream Cruise

Did you sail on the March 23rd sailing? We were on that one. You're right -- the water was way too cold for me.

Yes, it was freezing. My girls dragged me out to Pelican Plunge and it took my breath away. So cold. Still had lots of fun, but I am glad that Spring Break is later next year. It is almost a month later, so I am hoping that means warmer water.

I agree -- I much prefer to travel in April. A couple of years ago, we were there in April and it was over 90 and we loved every second of it. Can't wait for next Spring!

Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on where to stay the night before the cruise. Thanks!

I posted in the wrong thread, now I can't seem to delete. We aren't on this cruise. :-/ have fun!

Just got off the Dream on Thursday. We booked on board for next Spring Break. It will be our 2nd time on the Disney Dream and our 4th Spring Break cruise. My DH and I have two daughters, they will be 7 and 8 when we sail (well just turned 7 and almost 9). I am glad that Spring Break is later next year, hopefully Castaway Cay won't be so COLD.

How is the crowd during Spring Break? I know there are only a certain amount of people, so I guess I mean the age demographics? We were on the Dream June 2011 and my 2 had lots of kids their age.....but then we went on December 2012 and it was very heavy on the pre-school/younger kids age.....I guess I should have thought that......but it honestly never occurred to me when I was planning :rolleyes1

Thanks - Robin

Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on where to stay the night before the cruise. Thanks!

we have stayed at the Raddisson at the Port each time we cruised, but last time the customer service at the front desk was atrocious so I won't go back there again.

i have a TA who has cruised before and am hoping she will give me some ideas/recommendations. I will pass them along.

however, DH and I are contemplating spending 2 nights at a WDW resort before-hand (since the cruise leaves on a Sunday) and go to one of the water parks :-)

Anyone here on Facebook? I would like to set up a FB private group so that we may chat a bit more freely (privately) about our plans. I just know that I wouldn't mind my kids to be involved, but don't want them on this public forum.

But never fear - we'll still keep this thread open for any and all to find us.

This will be my second Disney Cruise, and my parents first! Looking forward to showing them the dream! We are also DVC members. I'm a new member on these forums even though I've been reading them for years, any help/tips are greatly appreciated :)

Hello, my family is on this cruise as well! Me, 8 yo son, my mother, my sister, and her boys ages 12 and 15. We cruised Spring Break 2012- same Dream 4 night. My son loved the kids cub, 15 yo (then 13) loved the teen club. Hoping 12 year old likes the tween club tis time. Delayed in finding our meets group because we debated jumping over to the Magic leaving the next day, but didnt want to lose our adjoining cabins.
We did the FE last trip but won't again- though I had a ball sewing a FE, doing the 20ish gift deliveries was time consuming and we had to throw things out after that couldn't fit in our bags.
Toniosmom: I think we met at BLT in March, just prior to you last cruise!

I'm so excited!!!! We just booked our 4 night cruise on the Dream leaving on 4/13/14! We've never cruised before! Our party will include myself (Desiree, 37), DH (Brian38yrs), DD (Ally, 13) and DS (Justin, 8yrs)
My daughter is a little upset that she'll have to go to the tween club, she really wants to go to the teen club! We cannot wait to
Join all of you! If anyone has tips/advice to share, I'm all ears!! Thanks :)

Wow this is one underpopulated cruise thread! Lol! Anyone else out there?

Keep checking daily for new cruisers, beginning to think we're having the ship to ourselves. DD, DGS9, DGD6 and myself. We are doing our first cruise, so not confident to start a FE group, hoping to join a small group if anyone starts one. Having trouble getting passports, luckily we started the process early. Getting our gift cards from Giant Eagle to pay for cruise, won't have to pay for gas for several weeks.

Hi :) We just booked yesterday and it looks like this cruise is relatively full given the limited # of family suites that were provided to choose from. Where's everyone hiding??

BTW, Finally figured out what a FE is! Sounds like fun! Who's interested??

Desiree, on the last cruise my nephew was 13 and they let my sister sign him into the Teen club, no problem. He checked out both and liked the teen club better.

We are cruising with CLC- me, mom, sister, my 2 sons 12 & 15, nephew 8. Same cruise as 2 spring breaks ago. The kids LOVED it, particularly the littlest & oldest. Trust me this will be booked to capacity. My son 15 was forced to join us for dinner but really only wanted to be in The Vibe. My little one clung to my side but loved the sports deck, My nephew was in & out of the little kids club. Loved Castaway Cay. Very perfect in April. Staying the night before @ Residence Inn Cape Canaveral. All suites, great included breakfast, close to port & rental cars. Nothing fancy but it is only one night & very reasonable. Liked the little Port area the night before- A small restaurant row where you can watch the cruise ships. Best advice to give for those who drink is to carry on some alcohol. The cruise is definitely made for kids. Bombay sapphire & tonics over ice provided daily by the state room attendant made it much more pleasant& help keep down costs.

Yes we did! We really need to get together on the ship for a drink....or two....while the boys are in the kids club. Before the cruise, we are not staying at BLT. I promised my son that we can stay at BCV, which is his favorite, so we'll definitely have to make plans before the cruise to meet. So glad you reached out!

I think that is a great idea. Here is the link to the list of cruise meets -- I don't see one for the 4/13 cruise: https://www.facebook.com/groups/467112946710832/doc/467412293347564/

When you get it set up, post it here so that we can all join. :)
