Kat, thanks for doing the updates.

Hmmm, no autographs at the character breakfast. I will have to let DD know that. Can they get autographs at other times?

I am planning to drop off pillowcases at Guest Services with a couple of sharpies. I read on another thread that they will have characters sign it. I think my DD would like that.

I always meant to give our info.
Right now you can call us Snow White and the seven grumpies! Of course, I am Snow White! I am sure that one of the grumpies is going to be named Maleficient but it depends on the rest of the day.
It is Mom(if I gave her age, I wouldn't live to see the cruise, Dad(60), my brother(35), me(just say I am over 21), and three possible cruisers(two in the 30's and one about two years old.(The man might be deployed at any time so they might not be able to go).

Thank you Kat for the list!

I also want to throw at there that my daughter is pretty much a tomboy. She gets along with girls and boys, but tends to hang out with boys more (I think they match her energy level more :confused3). Which if the 6 and 7 year old boys on the cruise don't mind, she will probably connect with them if they are together in the kid's club!
Now, I just have to finish convincing her to pick out a skort to wear to dinner......

Thanks Kat.

Here is our update - my mom is not going to be able to make it. :(

Vickie,

OMG, you might get SICK of all of the other autograph opportunities. REALLY. My husband at one point was like, 'HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU HAVE TO GET CHIP'S SIGNATURE ON THIS TRIP???'

:lmao:

They just don't get it do they? There's chip in his bathing suit, chip as a pirate ... need I go on??

If your child is "into" autographs, one thing that I do suggest wholeheartedly: invest in a cute little backback or fanny pack or SOMETHING that your child will learn NOT TO LEAVE THE ROOM WITHOUT.

There were sooooo many times when we were simply walking around and there was an unscheduled, unannounced character somewhere and it was my husband the first two times (then I did it the next two times before we caught on) who hauled *** running frantically up flights and flights of stairs, down random and sometimes wrong hallways to get the autograph books and pens from our stateroom.

Here's what I just bought for Gabi:

backpack.jpg

and she when we leave the stateroom, it will be, "Got your KTTW card? Got your backpack?"

But aside from the chance ones you will run into, there will be tons of scheduled ones ... port and sea days. On the 3 night Wonder that we did, Mickey was out probably on at least 10 separate occasions. The day we were in Nassau, we went to disembark and ha ... not so fast ... they had all of the princesses in the lobby. Maybe its a strategic move to slow down the rate of people getting off the ship at the same time!

Also, yes, dropping stuff off is fine. I actually dropped off a few t-shirts and a photo matt and they came back great. I will post pics of the shirts in a few mins.

Well, we are having our first REAL snow storm of the 07-08 winter season and boy is it a good one.

We were originally projected to get 1-3" and by the time we woke up, there was at least 5" and it's still coming!!

So, I figured it's a great day to be a DISer!!!

I found this SUUUUUUUPER helpful thread that maybe some of you have seen before and maybe not ... I sure hadn't before now.

It's called Helpful Information For You ... and it's all about pre-cruise stuff, getting to port, stuff to do in the area, cruise stuff, excursion info, port info, etc ... AWESOME INFO.

Enjoy!!!

yep---it snowed---and of course this time the weather men underestimated. Can I just say that we just got home from our beach house in Westbrook. I was suppose to come home this morning, but nope. Then I look in the fridge for breakfast and there is nothing, nada, nill. I didn't bother because we weren't suppose to get hit until 10 am in that area and I was gonna leave at 7 and stop for breakfast. Huh! Woke up at 5:30 and looked outside and just went back to bed. Luckily, I have a jeep and went for breakfast and stopped at the local gas station for milk, bread and ham for sandwiches. It was funny. Literally 2 slices of bread, cheese and ham. LOL! We were living large. Of course, I had a stocked bar!

This is a really good drink if anyone is interested---and a good replacement for a mimosa or a bloody mary. 3 parts OJ, 2 parts amaretto and 1 or 2 parts speltzer. It is called an Italian Kiss. Not sure you can order it at a bar, but you can at my house.

Ok---anyone up for the aquarium the first weekend in March? Then we can have time to schedule a second get together if we want---bowling or something.

Everyone has their passports---right!? And you know where they are--right!

I usually leave a copy with a relative and take a copy with me to put in the safe. That way, if you lose it, you do have a number you can give to replace it and your relatives have something in case of emergency--cya!

Deb---who right now is finally just sitting, watching my soap and drinking some wine.

Skuba - we are up for a meet but that weekend isn't good. We can do the 8th, 9th, 16th, 21st or 22nd. Let me know if any of those dates work for everybody! Thanks.

Yes we have are passports and I know where they are! THe only thing is not forgetting them!!!!:rotfl:

What we do before we leave is consider our passports as our driver's license
We have to have both before we walk out the door as well as our air line tickets. If nothing else those are all we need. :goodvibes

The weekend of the 8th/9th works for us too!!!!

We have our passports in our travel case that holds them w/credit cards, ID cards, etc. They never leave that case unless someone is looking at them in an airport!

We are actually traveling to Miami (kid free ... yahoo!!) in March 2 weeks before the cruise and we use them even for domestic travel so we always know where they are. But, I will say that I've never thought of copying them ... so I will definitely be doing that before we take another trip out of this house. Thanks for the pointer!!

Hey all you Connecticuters. Your weather is looking terrible and I hope you're all OK. We're getting another big storm here in Utah tonight and tomorrow, but not as big as the last one, nor as big as your current one.

Here's a passport tip for everyone:

At some office supply stores you can get Post-it tape. It is about an inch wide and comes on a regular roll like Scotch tape, only it is white and the glue is the Post-it kind.

Put a strip of Post-it tape on the back of each passport and write the correct person's name on the white tape. That way you can find each person's passport quickly without having to open them up, plus you are not defacing the passport with anything permanent.

We do this all the time. It allows me to keep everybody's passport and then distribute them quickly when they are needed at checkpoints.

Here is a picture of our family (If I post it right!)

I haven't seen anybody else post that they have a daughter who is 8 or a son who is 6 - anybody??????

My son is 6--Ryan. His pic is back with his two sisters somewhere. He is a good kid who loves computer games. He is in 1st grade.

My daughter is 10, but gets along well with pretty much any age. I am sure your daughter will fit right in with her and Gabi. They aren't technically in the same group, but they will be spending a lot of free time in the lab together.

That is a great idea. I never thought of that. I usually hand all the keys and the passports to dh or the security guy and let them figure it out. LOL!

TaraMom22...I have a 5 year DS and a 9 year old DD our pictures are there somewhere also.

I like that tip about the passports. It would make it so much easier to know without having to open them up! THanks.

The weather here in CT is better! The sun is shining and not so cold. The kids just loved finally getting some real snow that they could go and play in:)
