Monday A Sea Day
The girls had appointments to have their hair braided so I took care of this while Rich went to work out. Then I sat by the pool with Pat while Alyssa swam. Now it was time for Rich to do his thing. His mom had been bitten by something in Orlando or Key West so he went to medical to get her some Benedryl. When he walked up and knew exactly what he was looking for, the nurse asked him if he was a doctor. He told her yes, he was an orthopedic surgeon. The ships doctor then asked him if he would look at a set of X-rays and cast of a young boy who had fallen in the pool and broken his arm. Rich said sure no problem. The casting job was terrible so Rich suggested they take it off and let him re-roll the cast. Unfortunately for the boy Rich had to roll a half blue and half pink cast because that was all they had left. He told the father to let the cast dry for about 2 hours and then he could color it in with a blue marker. I told Rich since he did not get to charge for his services we should get a free cruise.
Just Kidding. The boys family was very sweet and sent us a thank you note along with a plate of goodies and a bottle of champagne. This was very thoughtful of them and we really appreciated it.
Since we were staying in the Walt Suite we decided to have a DIS meet in our cabin so everyone could take a look around. We had the meet at 1pm and it turned out really great. We had about 7 or 8 families join us and we really enjoyed talking to everyone.
The adults went to the wine tasting in the afternoon. Rich and I have done this before and enjoyed it, but Pat and Charles are not wine drinkers so they didnt care for it very much.
It was formal night so we got everyone dressed and headed down to take pictures. The lines were huge, but we took a few pictures before dinner. Rich took Alyssa back to the cabin to change and then took her to the lab. She didnt eat dinner with us all week. Dinner was nice, but it had gotten a little rough that afternoon (seas were 8-13ft) and Brittany (Dale) was feeling a little seasick.
We saw many people leaving the dinning room carrying to go plates back to someone in their cabin. Chip & Dale had planned a surprise for us at dinner so she was trying to hang in there. They had planned with Jeff(head server) the evening before to get chocolate soufflés for Rich & I as a thank you. It took a while to get them and Britt finally had to go back to the cabin. Rich and I really enjoyed the soufflés but it was so hot in the dinning room all I wanted to do was go back to the cabin and change.
After resting for a little while Dale headed to the Stack to find Chip. Rich & I relaxed for a little while until it was time to pick Alyssa up from the lab. (You will notice a pattern here. Rich & I relaxing & resting, while the girls party all night. We must be getting old.) Alyssa had made flubber in the lab and she was so excited. This was all we have heard about for the last year.
(Side Story) On our cruise last March it was Alyssas 7th birthday and they were making flubber in the club. She was so excited it was all she talked about. At dinner she said she was tired so she put her head on the table and promptly fell asleep. She would not wake up for anything. When they brought out her birthday cake we woke her up for a minute or two while they sang and then she went back to sleep. Well, needless to say she missed making flubber and has talked about it since.
