April 10, 2012 5 Night Bahamas Double Dip

Melissa
Did they still hand out certificates-I heard sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.Actually people said they were in their stateroom later.

My husband and I walked the Castaway Cay 5k last week. It was a nice (but very hot!) walk. I have knees that don't tolerate running, so we walked it. It's not anything "official" like a race, there's a CM on a bicycle that says "start here and follow me"... there's not even anyone noticing when you cross the finish line. The route isn't really clear (it loops around the bike trail twice, then down to Serenity Bay), but I'm proud to say we finished it. It took us about an hour (that included the detour up the observation tower).

No certificates. No one even took a "roll call", so there would be no way for them to hand out anything later.

I made my own tee shirts though :thumbsup2

awesome..thank you...I hope the first night is the variety act because I would like to just mess around at the pool with my boys instead of having to see a show the first night.

and I'm glad to see REMY on the ship...I get to finally meet him...i mean my kids get to finally meet him :rolleyes1

I was also glad to not "have" to see a show the first night. I wanted to just see what there was to see around the ship! My kid (age 4) spent the sail-away party in the pool (she could have cared less about the singing and dancing going on). At least she got that out of her system so she sat quietly through supper.

We ended up catching the show (the "adult" version) later in the week (just wandered into the theatre late one night as they were starting) and found them VERY funny. They make fun of themselves and other stereotypes (they are black), the audience full of white people found them pretty amusing. I wouldn't call it a "must see", but it was a fun show.

Just received our school year calendars for next year so I transferred our reservation to this cruise since we are off that week.

We, myself (33) and DH (33) will be joining this cruise!

We have cruised only twice before- once on the Magic and this past Feb on the Dream. We were on board the Dream for just 3 nights and it was much too short! When I saw this double dip itinerary I was thrilled.

No thank you for the fish extenders. But I am glad to jump on this board for the pre cruise excitment.

We booked 11C gar. so who knows where we will be..... Fingers crossed for an upgrade. :)

We are GTY 9B, which makes me very nervous. We had stateroom 8018 for our June 2011 double dip - and the location was great.

Stairs are good for us "Pooh-sized" folks, it was an easy stair walk up to 11 to Cabanas, the pool, or the gym, or down to dinner or a show... but 9B's are all on deck 2, and walking up from 2 to 11 isn't going to be as easy! Fingers crossed here too for an upgrade, just want to be higher up and not down in "steerage"!

Welcome to all the new people who have joined the group. This is going to be a fun cruise meet thread. I think the last one I was on, I joined a year before our cruise, and it only made it to page 13 before our cruise date came.

LissaW16, I have started to read your trip report, and am loving it. Makes me really excited for our upcoming cruise!

I bought the material the other day so my mom and I can make our FE's for our rooms. We can't wait to get started, we are just trying to finish off our first quilt before we start our next project.

I would love to see one of the Cat 11 rooms with the virtual porthole, they sound really neat. We are in Cat 5E's, so all of the people above us can look down on our balcony, I just like to look over the edge straight down to the water.

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of their summer.

My last cruise thread hit 90 pages before sailing - we were a chatty bunch, especially at the end!

The TR writing is slow, probably because I am including so many pictures. Most of the way through AK now, still need to do MK before we even board the ship! Thanks for being patient!

My in-laws were in cat 11 on the Dream - I peeked in their room but never watched their porthole. It was noticibly smaller in the bathroon department, they didn't have a split bath. DH and I joked "he showered in my bathroom, I went potty in his". We each had plenty of space that way.

Summer, that's a joke. It's 50 degrees and foggy/raining, has been all weekend. Love northern Minnesota weather (ha!).

Welcome aboard vavalynn!

I have been gearing up for my Oct cruise...I started my FE gifts for the Oct cruise..and so now I know what I'm doing for this cruise....nothing unique but for me its awesome that I was able to "make" something.

Once I'm off this cruise, I'll have to start truly planning for this one. I won't be getting off at Nassau, I can care less...but will be getting off at CC both times no doubt about that.

Does anybody know if we can order a birthday cake on board. Like I want a real one...not a piece of cake.

I just received confirmation from my travel agent that our Dessie went through. Phew! I peeked at availability and price today and there was not a lot to choose from.

We are just thrilled to find a 5 day cruise. The 7 day magic was a little long, the 3 night dream was too short. This is great!

I peeked at airfare and I think we will fly down in Easter, spend Monday at cocoa beach and then board.

We can't wait to go back on the dream.

But for now we will enjoy the summer. It was a beautiful day here today.

Thanks for my warm welcome. :)

Hi All,

My family and I have recently booked this cruise and we are soooo excited!:cool1: There are 5 of us, my, hubby, and 3 kids, 1, 3, and 6. This is my second Disney cruise but for everyone else in my cabin it's their first. We would love to get in on doing fish extenders. Is it to late? What do I need to do? Hope to meet you all!

Been meaning to check in more often, but life seem to get in the way. Glad to see so many on this board, the more the merrier. MommaMouse, so far it will be UnkaMike, 57, and my niece Saharah, 12, cabin #6678, for the FE. I'll let you know about my sister and her husband later.
I'm going on the Oasis of the Seas in Oct. Then the Dream in Dec. I love cruising.
I totally forgot about Easter, My Sister will be coming from N. Idaho, hope they can get a good flight rate. Looking forward to meeting all of you.

unkamike...I priced the oasis (or allure I think)_..but after lookin through the brochure and watching the video...I got overwhelmed...so I decided not to go anytime soon...probably will wait till the boys are like 12-13...

My boys and I went to busch gardens on saturday...the Kinetix show was kind of cool. My son liked it. Great acrobats. With it just being me and my boys I have yet to ride the cheetah hunt :( and we didn't have time to see the new cheetah habitat :( we already saw the baby cheetah (who is sooo adorable)..but I never get to see full grown cheetahs..both lowry park zoo and animal kingdom they are always hiding.

We also so Cars 2...loved it. Can't wait for Brave...

hey so...do any of you think we should start a FB page? I know we had mentioned it before...or at least I think we did....I'm always on FB...and here :surfweb:
