April 1 - 8, 2006 - Magic - Eastern

I'm so unorganized. I have not pack for or shopped for a single thing. We have had many issues in our family recently and I wonder if it will get done. I'll be the one throwing things in the suitcases the night before hoping I have not forgotten anything. :sad2:

Dh said we can get our act together this weekend. I hope so.

Friday night we will be at MK. It is only a week until we leave and I can't believe it!

I can't believe it's only a week away either! Sorry to hear that you've had some stressful issues in your family lately. Hope things are getting better. As for being unorganized, I know the feeling. Here's what I did just tonight...I poured myself an adult beverage and grabbed a notebook and a pen. I made a list of all the things left to be done. That alone made me feel a bit more in control of things! Next I took a highlighter and I highlighted the things the kids could help me get done. I'm getting pretty good at delegating things for them to do and NOT going back and redoing what they just finished!hahaha DH has been very helpful too. I've already gotten a few things checked off the list and that's a good start! I hope you have a good weekend!

Hi,

I would love to get together so my DD (7) can meet some other girls. It doesn't look like Friday night will work for us (unless someone wants to meet up with us then) since we won't be there until 7:00 p.m. or so, but maybe we can plan to meet once onboard the ship on Saturday. We're flexible so be sure to include us if anybody comes up with a plan. I wanted to take DD out of school on Friday, but she has tests that morning so we opted to just check her out early.

This weekend I hope to get most of the packing done, car washed, house cleaned and still have time to prepare for a job interview I have on Tuesday. Plus, go to DD softball game on Saturday and Church on Sunday. YIKES...WAY TO MUCH TO DO!!!!!

I'm so ready for vacation!!!!!

Pack Pack Pack

We lied to the kids and said that we are going to a five star resort in Fort Meyer/Sanibel Island where they have a fancy restaraunt where they will have to be dressed up for one night ;)

We had reservations last summer and have not let it slip...

Oh the lies

Dad -- why did you get motion sickness patches (for when we go out on a speedboat/deep sea fishing)

Why aren't we going to WDW? Too busy in spring break.

Map with an artificial route highlighted. Fake reservations in the mail (since I am an overplanner, they expect to see all of this kind of stuff before we go)

And keeping the secret! (DS14) WHy do I need a waterproof watch Dad? For when we are snorkeling, we don't want to miss getting back on the ship, er, the boat. Yeah you know, we don't want to get left behind like those people in the movie :thumbsup2 (Ouch that was a close one)

But next week, it will all be worth it when we turn into Port Canaveral instead of going to Cape Canaveral (maybe I say I made a wrong turn and then ...

APRIL FOOLS!)

The hard part will be for my wife and I to not act too excited on Saturday morning but that it is just another day on vacation.

Wow, JimV that all sounds so cool. It will be hard to be excited!

I'd love to be there to see the look on their faces!! You guys have really put alot of work into this.

wishing everyone a great cruise with lots of pixiedust: for the little ones.
we're so jealous..we have to wait until sept 17. if any consulation, we
always plan to be ready but it never happens and we have taken 5.
in fact, her's a secret...if it wasn't for hurricane jeanne, we would've
missed the ship or would been pretty close to "naked". :teeth: we're
hoping this produces some really cool trip reports esp. from the
"smoihusted" gang. :wave2:

Well, is everyone packed?

"We're leaving the Atlanta area sometime around 2 or 3 and also plan to stay in Ocala Friday night. (Mom24Princesses we should get together there!)"

I figure we might be on I-75 by 5:00!! . That is the curse and the blessing of living in Fayette County. Not a quick drive to the interstate. I hope we get to Ocala by 10:00-11:00.

I think we are getting on at McDonough this time. There is no great way on a Friday afternoon and Spring Break for all of Metro Atlanta too!!

I got a lot done. The best thing is that the teacher across the hall from me mentioned "Do you need any extra suitcases?" She cruises at least once a year and bought a bunch for an Alaskan cruise last summer. She loaned me two huge cases. I planned to go get one more this past weekend. These are great! Now I can bring almost everything on my wish list. BUT WILL IT FIT IN THE CAR???

I have to pick up dry-cleaning tomorrow. That should let me complete the packing. Oldest 2 DDS have not started!!!!!!!!!! We may be coming with only 2 little DDs.

Well, everyone take a deep breath and try to relax. Just think about this time next Sunday!!!! Pink noses, full tummies, Golden Mickey’s??

I wanted to wish you all a great trip! We were originally scheduled on this cruise, but decided to wait for summer 2007.

Have a Magical voyage! :wizard:

Just checked our online reservations and we've been moved from late seating to early seating for dinner.

Oh, I'm still hoping this will happen for us. :flower1:

Hello all - less than a week away...

Following is a repost an earlier post - look it over and let us know if you are interested in sharing a daysail:

We will be going on this cruise. We are a family of 5 (from Eden Prairie MN), kids age 3,7,13.

After careful thought we have decided that our excursion of choice is to charter our own cigarette boat for a tour of Anguilla and possibly St. Martin. We look to get the following benefits out of the trip:

- Anguilla beaches have been described and seen pictures as among best in Carribean and world (Cap Juluca, Shoal Bay, Sandy Island, Prickley Pear).
- Snorkeling and beaching at picture perfect pool-blue secluded beaches and islands around Anguilla.
- Lunch at our place of choice (possibilities included grilled lobster, casual beach restaurants, or possibly the crew cooking fresh seafood).
- The boat will pick up and drop off where our cruiseships are.
- These boats are fast (60-70mph) and the 15-20 minutest that it takes to get to Anguilla will be the same 15-20 minutes it takes to get to say, Orient Beach.
- Depending on time/preferences, we could possibly tour St. Martin/Maarten in the afternoon (Marigot, Orient Beach, Maho etc.).
- Beverages included.
- Personal attention and customization of trip.

more info for the vendor can be found at:

www.offshoresunsations.com

We are looking for another group to share the cost of the boat with us. If interested, PM us and we can hash out details.

Thanks

Paul S.

Also,

Just started packing. Wondering what everyone else anticipates the temperature to be inside the ship.

What we are getting at is - is it going to be cold (due to air conditioning)? Is everyone else bringing light jackets? If so, how much? Don't want to be cold but don't want to overpack either....

you need a light sweater or jacket if ac gets you cold. i know at dinner i always brought something for myself and kids.

Can you believe i just received my docs today!! they had to send overnight i guess originals were lost.

The time is drawing near. :cool1: Before it gets too close to sailing day and everyone is too busy packing to read the posts, I wanted to suggest that we all meet mid-ship at the Goofy pool at departure. I'm not sure of the exact time of sailing but I'm sure there'll be an announcement. My DH, DD (6), DS (3) and I will be on deck and looking forward to seeing you there. I'll bring a sign or something to help us all find each other in the crowd.

Shelby Princess (a.k.a. Lanna)

Haven't posted for quite some time due to being swamped at work, but I've been monitoring all of the activity. I think the family is all packed, with the exception of me. I just got back from a business trip yesterday, and had to free up the suitcase to pack for the cruise.

I just emailed my wife saying "only 30 more hours" (we fly out of Indianapolis at 5:55 pm tomorrow evening). :Pinkbounc

My DS7 isn't falling asleep very well at night lately because he's so excited.

We're planning on spending Friday at Sea World in Orlando and driving over to the port on Saturday morning. Since there will be a total of 7 of us in our group, we've rented a van to drive from the Orlando to Cape Canaveral. This will allow us to have a vehicle for our other site seeing, and saves us a little more than $150 over the disney transfers.

At the sad :sad1: conclusion of our cruise, we'll get another rental and drive back to Orlando and spend that Saturday at one of the Disney waterparks and fly home on Sunday (we're squeezing every bit of fun out of the trip that we can).

I liked the idea of a sign at the departure party by the Goofy pool (thanks, shelbyprincess), I'll make sure my son is holding up a "Bon Voyage!!" sign signed "ColtsFans" (me, I'll be holding my adult beverage). :stir:

See ya'll there, and safe traveling. :moped:

That would be me/us. NO I WILL NOT BRING MATH BOOKS!! No reminders of what I leave behind Friday afternoon or return to on Monday 4/10!!!

DH teaches also and said if any kids from his school show up on board they will be swimming home. Last Spring Break my sis and BIL (he teaches too) saw people from his school in 30 mins of boarding!!! (It was the RCCL that sails out from PC on Sundays.)

No I plan to pretend to be a stay-at-home-mom who has a nanny, a maid, a gardener, etc.

It's Disney :smickey: a girl can dream. Our youngest DD plans to be a real princess when she grows up. princess:

We're rolling on 48 hours. :cool1:

We leave tomorrow, too, Coltsfan. We are on a 6:30 flight though. Tonight will be my too excited to sleep night!!!!!!!!!

We will be in MK on Friday.

:cool1:
