April 1 - 8, 2006 - Magic - Eastern

We got our documents yesterday also. We did the online check-in too. Boy that sure is a time-saver. The biggest problem we are having right now is deciding on our first onboard frozen fruity thingee! Ha ha! I thought it was pretty cool how they are now staggering the dinner times. Makes sense. Just a few more days -- can't wait!! :cool1:

Online check-in? What's that?

Two weeks from today we'll be on our way!

:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes We are getting SO excited here!! I can't believe it's 2 weeks away! We Tivo'd the show the Travel Channel had about the Disney cruise and I think the girls have watched it 3 or 4 times this week! LOL I finally got myself and the girls packed - I feel like I'm packing way too much but then again I feel like I'm not packing nearly enough! LOL Dh is on his own for packing - I never pack the right things for him :-) We also got all our cruise documents on Monday - hooray!!!

We also decided to go to Sea World the day we return from the cruise - Anheiser Busch is offering free tickets to military members and their family through their "Hero Salute" and our youngest has never been there. We figured we'd be getting off the ship early enough and since we'll be near Orlando anyway, we might as well take advantage of that opportunity as well.

On the sadder note, we did get a final date - dh leaves for the Army on April 21, so he'll be home for about another week and a half after our cruise before he leaves us for quite a while. I talked him into renting a tuxedo for the formal night on the cruise - the girls are going to flip when they see him!

Anyone else getting so excited that they can hardly sleep already? :-)

"we're too exciiiiited to sleep"....hahaha...have you seen that commercial? DH and I crack up every time we see it..we can totally relate! :rotfl2:

I think Dh will wear black pants, black shirt and his tan/black sport coat for formal night...not as dressy as a tux or his suit, but I totally "dig" him in it, and it's all about me...right??? I am wearing a black pantsuit that I've had forever and worn on other cruises. For the boys...DS 12 and DS 8, I went to eBay and got them each a new sport coat..got them both for under $30..total (including shipping)! DS 8 is excited to dress like a "real grown-up" but DS 12 is thinking it's going to be "uncomfortable and totally lame" to have to wear a tie! (which I bought at Wal-Mart for $5..haha)

I have a 3-ring binder with all our info and my notes (kinda an organizational freak here) in it and I keep looking at it about every 1/2 hour....is that bad??? between daydreaming and this board, :surfweb: I'm not getting much accomplished!! Anybody else have a really bad case of Disney-itis???

Leslie

I totally have Disney-itis!!! :rotfl2: I still have not received my docs if not today I will call TA. I did receive my magical express docs yesterday. Now I have to book a limo from wdw to port. I better get busy.

Hey JimV,

If you go to disneycruise.com and pull up your reservation under "My Disney Cruise" there will be a new ON-LINE CHECK-IN option now in the left side column. You can fill all of your forms out online, and you won't have to turn in any forms at the port, other than your payment authorization. It makes everything go faster at the port. :cool1:

WE RECEIVED OUR DOC'S TODAY!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2  :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay: :bounce:

They went to our travel agent first. In the travel booklet it looks like the very first page has been torn out already. Is everyone's like that or did our travel agent keep a page? What was/is on that page?

I have "Magic-itis" really bad too!!! I've been laying out clothes on the bed in the spare room for weeks now. Today I went through them all again and prepared one final shopping list. I've been hoping to lose a few more pounds before the cruise, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen, so I've got to go buy a few new shorts. Better get them extra big so that they'll still fit by the end of the cruise!!

We leave for Ocala two weeks from TODAY!!!

We don't have ours yet!!!
I guess our TA is slow to make the transfer!!!

I may e-mail her in a bit to check on them.

angelsinmyarms - -I know that when I got the paper work form her saying we were paid-in-full she had cut off the bottom 1/3 of a page. Don't know why?? Seemed odd to me.

I WANT MY PAPERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you believe that most of us will be in Florida two weeks from this moment!??

Hi,

I think we are finally finished with our shopping. I have most everything ready to go in the suitcases. I can't believe we are less than two weeks away now!!!!! :cool1:

angelsinmyarms - I was hoping to lose a few more pounds too, but I'm not sure it's going to happen. We have a cafeteria at work and they have Chick-fil-a biscuits. My challenge this morning was...do I eat cereal or a biscuit? I opted for the cereal, but I know I'll be starving by lunch. Fortunately, I can still wear some of my shorts from last year and I also had a few pairs I had bought in a larger size that I can wear.

Have a great day!

Lisa

We have most of the fun stuff packed, but now I am down to packing the clothes, that is the hardest part for me. Do you plan on wearing the same thing to dinner at more than one night? I know we rotate with the same folks and servers, but I don't want to take 7 different outfits! :confused3

I am packing 3 or 4 pairs of capri's for myself and different tops..I'll just rotate through those. It's not that I don't have enough stuff to pack something different for each night, but I'm allergic to laundry :crazy2: and the symptoms seem to be worse right after a great vacation! I'm doing the same thing for each of my DS's. A pair of tan pants and a pair of navy pants...different shirts. I won't be packing for DH, but I'll encourage him to pack my way...(read, he'll WILL pack my way..hahaha) I would prefer not to do laundry while on the ship but if I have to, I guess I won't freak out...wait...I can have it sent out if I need to have something washed...after all, I am on vacation!!!

Hi! :wave2: I just hapened to find this site and it's pretty neat! I thought it would be fun to post so yeah! I just wanted to see if i could find any other teens going before we left! I'm 16 and i have a younger brother who is 13 and of course my lovely parents are coming along. This is our first Disney cruise :earsboy: so it is sure to be an adventure :goofy:

Three of us going Me (dear Mom paying for it all)
Son, Nathan (15) big guy 6' 2" - can't miss him :smooth:
Daughter, Olivia (9 turning 10 in April) - playing Shere Khan in "Jungle Book" play at local theater when she returns ... just ask her to roar!!

I'm sure they'd love some company. They've been on the ship a couple of times before and would love to be tour guides. :wizard:

Can't wait to see everyone there!!!!!

Is anyone interested in meeting for supper on Friday before we leave? We would love to meet some of you before the sensory overload sets in as soon as we set foot on the ship.

We will be in town a day early and are planning to eat at Grills, which is right on the docks. It is supposed to be a good restaurant and not too pricey. We thought it might be neat for a few families to get together and meet & eat.

Anyway, if your family is interested, just PM me and we can plan on a time.
According to the website, if you are there at 5:00 P.M., you will be able to watch them unload all of the fish caught that day. The website for Grills is www.visitgrills.com

It would be nice to meet for dinner. However, since we are leaving after school on Friday, I just hope we're to Macon by 5:00 :rotfl2: . We plan to spend the night in Ocala Friday night and head the rest of the way Saturday morning.

It is getting sooooo close now!!

Hello Francisca64
Oldest DD will be 15 in May. A ballet company near us is doing Jungle Book this weekend.
Our ballet company did Beauty and the Beast last spring and we are doing Peter Pan next spring.

See everyone soon!

I also think it is a great idea to meet but, we will be at wdw until sat am. I really can't wait!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We would love to meet for dinner; however, I'm not sure what time we will arrive in Orlando. We're checking our DD out of school at 11:00 a.m. and plan to leave straight from her school, but I'm thinking it will be 7:00 p.m. or maybe later before we get there.

I can't believe we're so close now!!!!! :cool1:  :cheer2:

With everything going on (packing, shopping, etc.), I found out this week that I have an interview (same company) on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. I'm so glad it's before vacation.

Lisa

We will be there in time to eat if all goes well on the drive. We're leaving early Friday morning. DD is in Kindergarten and teacher does not mind if we miss one day.

We will probably head out from Atlanta area at 7am. I think that will put us at the port area around 3pm. That schedule depends of course on our DD (6) and DS (3) and how many potty and food breaks we have to take. I have PM'd you jnc1970 so we can make definite plans.

Also, is anyone interested in meeting on deck for departure? It would be a great time to meet and share in the excitement. :cheer2:

We are going to be in Downtown Disney on Friday afternoon. Flying in from Michigan, going to DD and then Cirque du Soleil with the family before going back to the hotel.

DS11, DS14 and DD17 don't know about the cruise yet, so we won't be meeting anyone. If we can only keep the secret for another 8 days!

-- JimV

what an awesome secret!! how long have you been keeping it?? I don't know if i could handle that it is too exciting! good luck. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Thanks for the dinner invite, but we won't be there Friday night either. We're leaving the Atlanta area sometime around 2 or 3 and also plan to stay in Ocala Friday night. (Mom24Princesses we should get together there!)

I am however very interested in a DIS members meeting on board. Does anyone have ideas about when and where? I would love for my girls to meet some other kids their age so they will feel more comfortable in the kids clubs. I'm used to my 5 year old tagging along everywhere my 9 year old goes. It will be strange to send them to seperate areas when we're on board.

Do any of your children use the "Chat Now" phones? My 9 year old is thinking of bringing hers onboard. Since they work like walkie-talkies and not like cell phones they should work OK.

Linda
