April 1 - 8, 2006 - Magic - Eastern

Fellow cruisers, I found Pirates of the Caribbean tanks, towels, and flip flops at the Disney Store. Thought I would pass along this information for anyone interested. I do have to admit that the tanks were quite "boyish" and went up to a size 10-12.

38 more days, just 5 weeks away.

Hi!!

We just booked our cruise last night! We've been talking about it for months but decided last night to just do it!! And no waiting a whole year..we just decided to go ASAP!! The boys (12 & 8) are thrilled!! I must say...so are DH and myself!!

I've been reading tips on this site ALL day...haven't even made the beds and we're gonna have to have Subway for supper!! I need a crash course in Disney Cruises!! DH and I have cruised before, but never on Disney and never with the kids!!

I feel like that commercial where the kids AND the parents are too excited to sleep!!

We're off this week for "Mid-Winter Break" and I plan to make a trip to the mall on Friday. The nearest Disney store is a good 45 min. drive. I know a lot of others don't have one anywhere near.

I've been dissapointed in the clothing offered at the DS and online lately. I recall when they had really neat clothes for my girls. I was looking back at my WDW photo albums this afternoon.

AT LEAST they have swimsuits online now. I have not made it to Party City or the $ Store as I had hoped.

ANYONE dressing up for Pirate Night?

37 days and counting!!!!!!!!
:cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2:  :cool1:

Congrats!!!
Some of us have been on here for over a year. We booked Jan 19, 2005!!

We have 4 DDs (6, 8.5, 12 & 14)

Where do you "live" when not at Disney?

Happy crash planning!!

We are from Minnesota when we aren't running from the cold. Live in a small town near the South Dakota border.

I see that we have kids the same ages...both my boys are past the "girls have cooties" stage...especially the little one...so tell your girls to watch out for him!! hahaha

I've been looking at Pirate stuff pirate: ...do a lot of people dress up? Also..I think I'm going to attempt the Door Sign...might just make it a bit easier for my kids to find their way back to our cabin.

I can't seem to stay off this board or the disney site either! Nothing is getting done! How many days left???

CaptainMorgan,
I can't imagine planning everything so fast. I've spent hours and hours on-line and reading books for the past year.

In fact, all the research about St. T/St. J caused DH and I to book a 7 night trip to St. T for our 20th ANN this June. We had booked a 4 night DCL trip, but for the same $$ we get to drive 15 minutes to the wonderful :rotfl: Atlanta Airport and catch a plane and have 7 nights there on the beach.

www.secretharbourvi.com/ipix/1liv.html if that link works swing the view to the right and look out the sliding glass doors!!

ANYWAY, right now we are going to dress tropical on pirate night pirate: . Decided not to spend extra $$ for pirate clothes.

CAN'T WAIT!!! I've started packing!! In fact I am going to get up from this screen in a few more key strokes and go through some more clothes from the attic.

I am so worried that when it gets down to the wire I will not have suitcases or space in the car enough!!!!!!!!!

Mom24Princesses

WOW...what and AWESOME VIEW!! 20 years!! Congrats....that's great!!! :cheer2: DH and I will be celebrating our 17th this August!
DH and I go to Cabo San Lucas every February, so I've got the packing thing down to an art form!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I have NO patience..I hate waiting for things!! So, planning a vacation a year in advance might have been enough to kill me!!! hahahaha I can't wait either!!! How many days left???

I'm jealous of your St. T. vacation...that resort looks AMAZING!!

WOW...that resort looks amazing! We'll be celebrating our 20 year anniversary in April 2007. I'll have to look into this resort when we start making our plans.

I haven't started packing yet, but hope to go through some clothes tomorrow. We still have some shopping to do. We've been out a couple of times and have had no luck finding DD any shorts.

I don't think we'll dress up for the pirate night...maybe just dress tropical.

We booked a Category 12 GTY, but were upgraded to a Category 11 (Deck 5). We were happy to get even a small upgrade.

We can't wait!!!!

We are on deck 5 also!! :thumbsup2 Are you going to make a door sign? I think I'm going to try to do that!

I have a little bit of shopping to do, the boys seem to be growing out of everything lately!

As for pirate night...I don't think we are going to go all out...maybe just some hats and swords...the kids love those kinds of things! pirate:

At this point I don't think we are going to dress up for pirate night. I have yet to start digging out the summer clothes. I am sure I will be a last minute packer. I tried to download a packing list from the boards the other day but it would not work. I will for sure need a list.

CaptainMorgan,

What cabin are you in on Deck 5? It looks like we'll be convenient to everything. We haven't made a door sign yet, but probably will...if we have time.

We went shopping AGAIN today and found a few more things. My DD needs a whole new summer wardrobe since she's grown so much since last year.

We are in 5013...I've been working on door signs a little bit tonight.

We are flying into Orlando on Friday...taking the kids out of school that day. DH and I went round and round about wether or not to do that (I said yes, he said let's just fly out on Sat.) Airline settled it for us when they said that they couldn't get us to port on time if we flew out on Sat. so they are giving us a complimentary night at the Hyatt. :cool1:

As for shopping...our town is pretty small...I need to drive about an hour to a bigger town to buy most of the things I'll need. Hoping to get to do that either this week or next. Both of my boys have grown a bunch this winter and will need new wardrobes too!

Captain Morgan,

We're just down the stairs and across the hall from you in 6532!

We're doing door signs and semi-dressing for pirate night. Don't mean we'll be partially clothed :rotfl: LOL - just that we won't have official pirate costumes. My husband is wearing a pirate t-shirt that I ordered from deadmentellnotales.com. Daughters and I will be wearing pirate type striped shirts and probably white capris.

BTW, if any of you are looking for the rolling soft side coolers (also known as rolling bars :) ) our Sams Club has the one that holds 60 cans plus ice for $16.00 right now. Seems to be really well built with a three position sturdy handle and rugged wheels.

I just read on another Disboard thread that the Travel Channel is broadcasting its DCL show on March 14th 7-8 (PST). I'm not certain what that translates to the rest of us since, but you could certainly check your cable listings. Just two weeks before we depart, could be an excitement builder, as if we didn't need anymore of that.

If you haven't seen it, I suggest that you catch it or Tivo the show. It does a very good job about showing all aspects of the boat, including a cool part where it talks about docking the boat.

As to location, my DH, DS (10), and DS (8) will be located in 2534. This is our third time and first time on deck 2. The last two cruises we were in 7508 and not by our request (whodathunkit). I would love a veranda, but just can't justify the extra $800 dollars. I mean that's a lot of spa and bar money (lol).

I have made our door signs and am trying hard not to pack just yet. One year we went to WDW in the winter and I did most packing weeks before and thought, 'all I have to do is just throw in a few necessities'. Got to WDW and did not pack the kids any socks! Had to be $8 pair of socks in the gift shop for the kids, two pairs each, and did the laundry in the sink. My DH still laughs at this and has allowed me to pack only 48 hours in advance.

33 DAYS AND COUNTING

Hi everyone!

Just thought I would check in and see how things are going as you all are getting down to less than 1 month from your sailaway. We sure wish we were joining you as we originally planned. Of course we could not let our spring break go by without some Disney in it, so we have a planned a visit to WDW that same week. We'll be thinking of you on Saturday when you board and the fantastic time you are going to have. If I can answer any questions about anything related to your trip, let me know.

Here's wishing you all a pixiedust: "Magical" pixiedust: vacation!

:smooth: We booked our cruise last July in the midst of our daughter's wedding at the urging of our neighbors who found a great deal on the cruise and who will be in the cabin next to us.They love to travel and we love to stay home but they convinced us that a 7 day cruise would be great. So my DH, and DD (13) are planning and packing for the big day. Love all the tips and heads up since I am not the best traveler.

I am concerned about motion sickness-tho I love the ocean, beach and anything to do with it, I have never cruised or been on a boat more than a day. I hve the patch, but if anyone has other suggestions that would be great.

So we'll have the luggage in the car (luggage carrier)in 4 weeks. Plan to load it Thursday night, drive it to work Fri. morn. so we can pull out of the driveway by 4:30 Firday afternoon.

4 weeks!! :cool1: pixiedust: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :woohoo:
We booked Jan 18, 2005. It has been a long time coming.

I have to admit I have 4 suitcases packed. One of my summer clothes. One each for younger DDs and one of "JunK". I will "repack" them. (I do have undies BUT NO SOCKS!)

I don't know how we will do the dresses. (5 females!!) I don't know where/how to do it.

I was so worried earlier in the season that we'd miss a week of school due to a freak snow storm and they'd take away spring break. (Years ago that happened several times when we lived in North GA. (Don't laugh folks :rotfl2: who are really from the north))

In 1989 we missed 6 days of school in a row (Th - Th).
1993 We had a Tornado in Feb and "The Blizzard of 93" in March. (3 feet of snow and no power for 5 days is not what we southerners are use to) AND I HAD A 20 MONTH OLD princess:, A BROKEN KNEE, AND AND AND I WAS 5 MONTHS PREG WITH #2 princess: DID I MENTION THE BROKEN KNEE?
There was at least one other year like that between 1988-1994

BUT NOT THIS YEAR!

I have bought about everything we need. EXCEPT FOR ALL THE NEW CLOTHES THE 2 older DDs want.

Hi Kittyetal - welcome - I think you are in for a wonderful time. I have had the good fortune to have experienced several DCL cruises. I,too was a bit apprehensive about motion sickness before my first cruise..but my fears were fortunately unfounded.

I use the patch as a precaution when I cruise, though every cruise except one has been very very smooth. The one exception was on the August/Sept repositioning cruise last year (which was during hurricane season) We had one day of rough seas but I had no problem (the patch??) nor did my family.
Some folks swear by the pressure point wrist bands - though I've not used them. I think a midship room also is helpful.

Fortunately, we are not sailing during hurricane season so I think we will probably have smooth sailing.

I hope this is helpful - let me know if you have further questions about the patch. :)

Hi everyone...I'm just checking in! How many days till we sail?? I stink at math!! I went shopping a bit yesterday...got an over the door shoe holder ($5.99 at Target) since that seems to be one of the things mentioned over and over again! I have a box that I just keep tossing stuff into so I won't forget it, DH asked me where I'm going to put all the clothes if I actually BRING that stuff...I told him that I'd have to pack it in HIS suitcase since mine will obviously be filled with more clothes and he could only bring 1 shirt, 1 pair of pants, 1 pair of undies...etc...Hahaha
Everyone have a wonderful weekend!!!
