Apri1 4th- 11th - OUCH ! Car rentals are WAY EXPENSIVE

It is Easter Week -- one of the most traveled weeks of the year. It is going to be HARD to find a bargin. Good luck to you.

I would think that a week after Easter and things would calm down a bit....

Most years, that week is actually a little worse than the week before. Depends on how late Easter floats.

I used Hotwire 2 months ago and got a compact for $197 for 9 days ( April 14 -23 ) :)

Forgot to add, that's spring break for most of the Northeast (14-23), but easter week:confused3 don't know if you'll find any deals this late.

We had the same problem when we went last year. We ended up using magical express and then rented from National at the Disney Car Care Center. DH got the car the day after we arrived. National came and got him. This saved us a lot of money. Good luck!

Car rentals have been much higher in the past year. I used to pay around $100-$120 for a week with National Emerald Aisle. Last June it was around $150, in early December I paid around $190. I'm going in late October, if the prices are still that high I think I will only rent for a day or two to get groceries and go to the outlets.

Another reason is that you are waiting until the last minute to book. You should have been checking and reserving many many months ago.

Well that is cool. Grande Vista is a great resort. We also own there. Looks like the savings you will get from not paying for a hotel will be used up on the rental car. At this point Priceline may be your best option.

Prices are up there, checked Alamo and it is over $600 for a full size with the best coupon I can find.

Is it possible you could move the trip back one full week and go the following week? Price drops to around $200. Not sure if they could change the week on their reservation at this late stage.
