Sorry if this has been asked already, and I missed it. I was wondering how many presents you buy each of your children to open.
My DS is 15 and we buy him A LOT of gifts. It was so easy when he was younger to buy a lot...there were more items to choose from that were not so expensive. He doesn't want figurines or board games etc. anymore. He wants Video games ($52 each), electronics..(prices varied)...Bow Flex ($2,000), Yughi-OH cards ($100 a box).
With those prices it sure doesn't look like he got a lot, but we spent a lot.

I was wondering if those of you with older kids tend to spend more or limit it to a certain amount of gifts?

We only have 1 son, so that's our excuse to spoil him:D

My DD is 4 - an only child and an only grandchild (both sides) with three aunts and 2 uncles, and all the family lives within 10 miles - so I don't know about 300?

LOL...trayletha:D

That sounds very familiar!

I'm going to roughly say about 12 presents, depending on how you wrap them, individually or together! lol

I got DD a new CD player for her dorm, 4 sweaters, new corduroys, new jammies, new robe, some CD's, a new belt, new scarf and gloves and some jewelry. I put small things like lotions and shower gel in her stocking.

I also have 2 sons, and I try to keep everything even as too how much I spend. Can be tricky sometimes.

From me not many - my mom and I went together and got her a ps2 and a small tv to hook it up to - my one aunt a game for it - the rest of the family - who knows

I usually get them about 10-12 each. Some are big and some are small.

We are taking them to WDW again this year, so I only spent about $150/each.

They get 9 from my family and about 9 from DH's family.

They really clean up!:p

My DS will get 9 this year and my DD wil get 8. But actually I spent more on DD. She's 13, so her stuff is a little more expensive. She'd rather have something she really wanted them to have a ton of presents. I kept them between $250-300. DS is so much easier as far as $$$. Very rarely do I spend even $250 on him. But I know that will change!!;)

I think about 10 each from Santa. They'll also have a big present that they'll share.:) They always have 1 present they'll share every year.:) This year it'll be a present the whole family will share.:)

My family just gives them cash.

Interesting question because as I finished wrapping I thought "geez, these kids are getting waaaaayyyyy too much." I figure 5 each from Santa, 5 each from us, grandpa gives cash, grandma and aunt will probably give them 3-4 each, they will each get something from the godparents. You do the math!:D

Yes, I would say they clean up :D

5 year old..........around 12, including presents from grandparents, aunts, Santa, Mom & Dad!!!!! We make a conscious effort NOT to spoil him;) .......

Since he loves to open packages, we let him open our gifts as well.....:D :D

Way to many....I guess that I have issues with gift giving. I put alot of effort into it for anyone. I enjoy seeing my kids open their presents and seeing their eyes light up, when it is something they really wanted. So, they get a ton of stuff depending on what they want. My oldest is getting a once in a lifetime gift this year. A two week trip to England and France including a day in Disneyland Paris, so her gifts under the tree are not many. The twins have toys and clothes galore. I want my kids to have awesome Christmas' to remember and it is my one time a year to spoil them rotten. Though we emphasize the religious aspects of Christmas and that giving is always better than recieving

ummm- at last count DS10.5 is up to at least 62 presents from Santa/mom & dad and over $500
biggest item being a PS2
most of these were bought before our unexpected WDW trip last week - what am I suppose to do? return them?

my 3 DD's will each open about 10-12 presents from Santa.

Stocking stuffers will not be wrapped this year!!!

2-4 presents from Mom and Dad (clothing)

1-2 presents each from Nana and "P", Nonnie, and 3 Aunties, 1 Uncle

Monetary gifts from Grandpa and Uncle (for college)

The girls each buy their sisters a gift to open on Christmas Eve so that's one more for each of them!!

We usually go crazy at Christmas but this year there are only 4 to open each...Then they are getting a scroll that says....

GET IN THE CAR! YOUR GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!

I think that's enough...:)

About 10 from us.
One from each grandparent, Aunt, Great-Aunt & Godparents.
So about 14 to 15 total, times three that is a lot of Toys R Us rubble in the house!
