Appropriate Use of Leftover TS credits?

I apologize if this question has already been covered but I just am not finding it. My family wants to do the Dining Plan for our trip in March. No matter how I work things out though we are going to have a couple TS credits left. My in-laws are joining us for a meal or 2 when we are down there but will not be on the dining plan. Could I use the extra TS credits to cover their meal expenses at one of the meals even though they are not on the dining plan or staying in our room?

You cannot. It's against Disney's policy to do it, and the servers back this policy completely. They won't let you pay for other people's meals with your credits.

Some thoughts I had for how to use the extra credits...

Maybe try some 2TS locations?

If you're wasting enough credits, maybe OOP is the way to go?

Convert them to CS credits, and then maybe CS credits to snack type items?

If you don't use all your TS credits for TS meals.... It may be more economical to just skip the plan entirely, and pay for everything OOP.

With the DDP, you are paying approximately $28-$30 for each TS credit... so using a couple of those credits for $12-15 CS meals, can really reduce the value of being on the plan.

You may also want to consider using credits for signature meals.

how do you convert TS to CS? We are in the world right now and I just can't find anyplace to use the TS credits.

From what I hear, your resort is the best shot at getting the TS to CS. I've read (not sure if it's true or not) that the CS places at the parks don't have the capability to swap them.

Last year we were tired of wasting time at TS meals and were on free dining, so it wasn't like we wasted money. We just walked into Columbia Harbor House and told them we were using our TS for QS - no problem. They have to make this possible for all the people that have regular DDP and didn't realize they needed reservations. They have to eat somewhere.
