Appropriate attire for teen daughter

I'd just have her put a t-shirt in her / your backpack just in case it becomes an issue. If it doesn't she's happy, and if it does, she has a Plan B. Save the arguments for something important.

I would be very surprised if it was a problem. Unless it was very short, she will look like tons of other people wearing crop tops in the park. If it makes you feel better for her to toss a t-shirt in her day bag, then go for that, but otherwise, I'd let her be comfortable. :)

Also, I can recall when crop tops (and tube tops, too!) were all the rage for girls/women back in the 70s. And when men were wearing their own mesh versions of crop tops, too. It's not like this is some new, scandalous fashion choice. :)

I’m surprised nobody has been concerned about an exposed belly button ring being ripped off during a ride!!! That would be my concern!!!! I also think she will be fine with the crop top as far as Disney is concerned. BUT if YOU are uncomfortable with it, say no. Just because other girls do it doesn’t mean you have to let her. If you are ok with it, as others suggested, take a spare shirt just in case. 15 is a tough age.( 3 years ago a preteen and in 3 years will be an adult) They think they’re grown up and in all reality they are very naive. Honestly, I feel it’s your decision to make.

Disney is SELLING numerous crop top styles this year in their parks, both for young girls and women. They obviously have no problem with this trend.
This makes a lot of sense. I've heard from friends, though, that Disney does NOT sell belly rings at their parks, which seems like a missed revenue opportunity from DD's demographic.

There was recently a young lady all over Reddit that was mad she was made to cover up at a Disney park for showing “under boob”. So make sure the crop top isn’t too cropped. Note, the young lady did get a free t-shirt out of the bargain.

This. I’m a paranoid soul, and I would totally worry about this. Also, if you are planning signature dining, then an outfit, though allowed at the park, may not be there. I say, strike a compromise. Have a mix of outfits, just have her think about all the situations she’ll be in on a Disney vacation.

Can’t help you, OP.
16 y/o DGD is back to wanting her nose pierced…🤷🏾‍♂️

She’s gone to visit her mother (who already gave permission) and last thing she said to me was maybe she’d return with one. Told her “That’s spayshul” and off to the airport she went.

With the state the world is in, one teen in a midriff isn't going to make society crumble.

I noticed a girl in a midriff in the background of a MK YouTube video just today. She kept insecurely messing with her hair, which is the only reason she stood out to me. She knew she was being recorded and was worried how she looked princess:.

Seriously. A girl’s stomach is not hurting anything. It’s what all teen girls are wearing right now. I remember when crop tops were in style when I was in high school, except they were often worn with the low rise jeans, lol. Not a good look, yet we all wore it and somehow still grew up to be functioning members of society.

Totally normal for that age. That's how DD14 likes to dress. She's a good kid, so I'm ok with it. She dressed like that in WDW in June. In fact, I'm pretty sure she was trying to get pulled and give an alternative shirt to wear. It was a TikTok thing (not sure if it still is).
Ok, this is too funny. I was blissfully unaware of that TikTok trick, but DD15 filled me in. Free T-shirt or not, there will be TikToks made!

Like your DD, mine is such a wonderful kid with a good head on her shoulders. It's why I signed the papers for the belly ring in the first place. It's a blessing that she has the self-confidence to wear crop tops in public -- something that I don't want to stifle. Just confirming that it's an age-appropriate 'look' for WDW. :-)

My DD21 wore crop tops and booty shorts to WDW when she was a teen. She just graduated from a top 25 college and was on the Dean’s List 3 out of 4 years. Like you … she’s just fine, thank you :).

^^^
I’m not worry about DGD’s confidence. So far she seems fine on that end.
My concern is quite simply how she will be judged.
Tons of girls have nose piercings. My 25 year old had her belly, nose and ear cartilage done years ago, plus two tattoos, she graduated summa cum laud and is a CPA. My 20 year old has her nose and ear cartilage pierced, plus a tattoo, she’s going for her doctorate in PT and has had no issue finding employment. I’m guessing Dd18 will be next with the nose, most of her friends have one. She’s going into actuarial science. All 3 wear crop tops a lot.

Wonderful and congratulations to and for your DDs!
DGD is just starting high school as opposed to ending it as is true for your children. I do not think piercings and “tats”are an appropriate “right of passage” at her age (she’ll be 16 in the Fall).

Tube tops and hiphugger Elephant bell jeans. I had a pair that only had a 3 inch zipper but I could have hidden a small nation in the bell bottoms.

I think my girls were around 16 for their piercings (all 5 got matching sibling tattoos when the youngest turned 18), but were HS juniors. They sell nose ring plugs that hide the hole.

I’m glad this worked for you and yours. It would not be considered appropriate in my household but of course you live in your home and I live in mine.
