Applying the "Get 3 nights free" promotion to an existing ressie

I am looking to book a vacation in a Value season next winter where in recent years the "Buy 4 nights, Get 3 nights free" has been offered. Has anyone here ever made a reservation before the special offer was announced, and then later was able to have it applied?

Any problems/things to take into account?

yes you can apply a code later on, but you can only apply one discount.

Buy 4 get 3 is not as much of a savings at value resorts ($230-$300) versus staying at a moderate ($450-$500) or a deluxe ($1050).

It is a great promo to upgrade your resort from a value to a moderate (you would basically be paying value prices at a moderate) or a moderate to a deluxe.

So that's another thing to take into account

Thanks. We're looking at Moderate resorts. So whether it's the 3 nights free or the $500 gift card, the savings are similar.

My main concerns had to do with whether Disney would make me cancel my old ressie to create a new one with the special offer applied, exposing me to the possibility of the hotel being sold out.

no they won't cancel and rebook, they will simply just add the code
