Today is our 45 day mark, and we paid the balance on our package. Before we paid, my travel agent checked (early yesterday morning) to see if we could apply the code to our reservation. She said there was no availability at our resort for our dates. I called back myself today to check and there still isn't anything. Here's my question...what happens if I keep checking and something does eventually open up? If we're able to apply a code and get a discount, will we have to pay a penalty for making a change after the 45 day mark? Also, what if I am the one who finds the opening and not my TA? I know I can't modify the reservation she made for me, so if I call and get a lucky break, what should/can I do to insure that my TA can get it applied to my reservation?
One more question that's not exactly related...when I called to check availability the CM had to get my name, address, phone number, etc. just to check the dates/resort I was interested in. Is this normal? Will I have to go through that each time I call to see if there is an opening? TIA for any help anyone can give me.
