Application of Offer Code After Booking Trip?

We booked a trip and subsequently received from Disney a unique offer code/pin. We've never had trouble using the codes/pins in the past, but we've never had the current circumstances, i.e., those in which we booked prior to receiving the offer. Now we're being told we cannot apply the offer to the previously-booked trip, even though the trip fits the offer's parameters in terms of dates, hotel, etc. Anyone have any suggestions? Does anyone know the ins and outs of how this works (to the extent there's any rhyme or reason to it)?

Thank you.

Pretty sure you have to actually cancel the current trip and book a new one, if available. Can not just apply the discount to the current trip as in years past.

I have been able to apply a pin to a trip I already had booked. Did you use a travel agent? All I did was call my agent and they applied it The only way you wouldn't be able to is if you already had a promotion, like free dining. I have never been able to stack promotions. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work for you. Strange.

I just read this, so they don't allow it anymore? I know they used to.

If you call and make a *new* reservation with the code, is your resort/room/dates available to be booked with the code? If it is then, that means there's enough of your rooms available that Disney is discounting them and you should be able to "apply" your code to your reservation. If it's not available as a new reservation, then you are out of luck.

I just applied a code last week to an already booked package. There was no issue applying the code, however it took 1.5 hours to convince the CM that it would save me money. She kept comparing the package cost incorrectly (sometimes including the airfare and sometimes not).

If they are unwilling to do it, there may just be no availability. Just because your room is available on your previous offer, doesn't mean it is available on the new offer. Go to the link in your offer and use your code on a new reservation... If there is availability you will see it there. Just don't actually Checkout

I just saved $650 on our June trip with no issue. It was the same reservation, and All fastpasses and dining stayed intact, just our final price went down! The CM could not have been any better.

This is how I have understood it here from other threads over past weeks.

I just did this for my reservation. I went into MDE and used the "change your reservation" option. There was then an option to change special offers. From there, I chose the "Explore the Magic Again" offer and it brought up if there were rooms available for that offer. Initially, I was booked in a preferred room at Port Orleans Riverside but there were not preferred rooms available for the offer. I ended up switching to Animal Kingdom Lodge for about $200 more than my initial Port Orleans Riverside reservation was.

Hope this helps.

Unfortunately this. I also thought that they would just apply the UOC to reservation but after two separate calls to be sure I was informed the same thing. My advice though is to keep checking and even try to play with your dates. We had preferred booked and then got the UOC but there were no rooms to apply it to. After about a week I found a Garden View for 7 of our 8 days. A week later I found a std room for the extra day. Ideal? No. I'm hoping that I can get all in one category, but at least we are at the same resort for the entire stay and with a nice discount!

I was also able to apply a PIN code after the fact. I don't believe my original reservation was cancelled first (I still have the same confirmation number), but it's possible there were still rooms available for my dates, so maybe that's why it was allowed, as others have said. I hope you are able to get it to work!

Yep, you'll have to book a new reservation or change resorts/room categories if the one you currently have is not available for your dates with that offer. All that has to happen is for one day of your full stay to be unavailable for the promotion.
