Apple Watch onboard

Greetings!
I was thinking about giving my iPhone with my Disney Cruise app to my kids to communicate with me when they go off on their own. I have an Apple Watch and was hoping the app worked with my watch ( I have a separate cellular plan for my watch if it matters).nAny insight? Thanks!

Can your watch connect to the internet independently? The Navigator and chat app work through the ships internet channel, not through cellular reception. If you have old phones laying around that have internet capability you could use those.

Yeah, all you need is a phone that can download the app and connect to the ships wifi to be able to use the app. In November we gave our son an old iPhone 5 to use while on the cruise and it worked perfectly for that purpose. So any old smart phone should work (no need for it to even be associated with an active cellular account).

The app does not work on the Apple Watch, there is no app for it. But the watch will show notififications/reminders from the phone app on the watch.
