Apple Watch as Magic Band?

I’m planning to order my kids the Magic Band+ for our upcoming Christmas trip as part of their “present.” Is there a way to make my Apple Watch function as a MB+ for tickets and lightening lanes?

Not at Disneyland, apparently. It hasn't been announced as part of the MB+ rollout. Hopefully later on it'll happen, along with room key access and swipe to charge purchases.

You can at WDW, although it started up after our last trip so I haven't experienced it. It's called 'Mobile Magic' and is attached to MDE (My Disney Experience).

Ok thanks. I've never tried the magic mobile option at WDW bc I've always used my regular magic band. Was hoping it would be worth figuring it out for this trip! Thanks everyone!

The Apple Watch will function as a normal Magic Band. It will not do the extra features of the new MB+

But this is for Disneyland, where normal Magic Bands are not supported at all and Magic Mobile (using your Apple Watch as a Magic Band) is also not supported (yet?).

Not at Disneyland. There is no My Disney Experience app here and the DL app doesn't support this functionality.

I really REALLY wish they'd bring MDE over to DL. I don't understand why they haven't already. Having everything for your trip in one place makes things so much easier and uncomplicated.

I could NOT make my Apple Watch work with MDE for the life of me this last July... I tried contacting their support but they were unable to offer any suggestions at all aside from logging out and back in again and asking three times if I was using a supported model and OS (yes and yes). It did work OK though my phone, though I had to make sure the app was open and click on the link to unlock our door every time which was annoying. Hopefully they bring the ability to DL if they get it working reliably as wearing two things makes for even sillier tan lines.

Well, that's a bummer, I can easily see using MobileMagic (or is it MagicMobile?) at DL instead of a MB+ as their system doesn't have the full features that WDW does

I was looking forward to trying it at DL, if I go before our WDW trip next Fall. Hopefully they'll work the glitches out, although I think it's been available for close to a year now, long enough for that to have already happened!
