We had a beautiful day in NH today and my family went apple picking with some of my DD's friends from pre-school. It was so much fun.
However, we now have a 1/2 bushel of apples in our kitchen!
I'm looking for your great apple recipes that are not too complicated.
I'll share one of mine - I never had apples like this before I met my DH - I wonder if it is a New England thing? I thought the concept sounded terrible but it tastes great:
apples - cut into bite sized pieces, mixed with mayo (We use Miracle Whip Light, so not even mayo) - that's it. DH said it was a frequent summer side dish at his house. Tonight we used some Gala apples and it was sooo good. And I don't really eat a lot of mayo either.
So - what are your recipes? We have Macoun, Gala and Honey Crisp apples - very sweet and some tart Empire apples too. DH
apple crisp so I'm looking for a good recipe for that but also others too.
Can you help me out? Thanks!
