is this a fairly new thing or did I just never notice it? I haven’t been to Disney since July for a Fantasmic dinner. I went this past weekend 10/14 and Apple Pay was available all over the parks. I used it at Plaza Inn, some shops at CA Adventures and all the little food carts around the parks had it too. Apple Pay and having MaxPass on the app made the whole visit way convenient!!

Oooo - I love Apple Pay! If it's in effect in the parks, that would be awesome!

it most certainly is. I used my Apple Watch to pay for just about everything. I just didn't know if it was old news or not

I don't remember seeing it in early August, and I feel like it something someone in our party would have noticed. This is great news!

When Apple first announced Apple pay would be a thing years ago, it was said that it would be in Disney Parks. But I never noticed if it was or not.

It's pretty new. They have been installing the self swipe pay machines at CS locations and merchandise locations over the past month.

It's been available since about the beginning of September at Disneyland. It's been available at Disney World for a long time since the old Magic Band readers at the registers had NFC readers. Disney World switched out to the types of machines at Disneyland in early/mid 2017.

Whats so great about apple pay? Being serious. I have never used it and don't know anyone that uses it so just wondering how its better. My phone doesn't have but my wife's does. I'm just not seeing why its easier to take out my phone than my wallet.

It’s processes faster during checkout then the chip reader card. I also like not having to dig my wallet out of my bag when my phone is usually in my hand.

I just read that i can use it with my iphone 5s and my apple watch(that i rarely use), maybe i should try it to see. The chip readers can be pretty slow, and the beep is really annoying someplaces.

Edit: You have to use the Apple Watch with the iPhone 5s. You need a 6 or newer to use the phone component.

I tend to be an early adopter of new technology in general, and Apple stuff in particular. While I was very excited when Apple Pay was announced, it seems Apple Pay and other digital wallet payment systems have been a failure.

Disney eliminates much of the convenience of Apple Pay (and Magic Bands) since an AP must be presented for discounts.

Digital Wallets can cause issues with credit card rewards (miles, cash back...). While these issues might be limited to particular wallets (or credit cards or merchants), it makes me reluctant to use digital wallets.

I’ve never had an issue with the rewards part when using Apple Pay with any of my rewards credit cards.
