Apple Care for iphone?

I went ahead and bought it. What tipped the scales was the fact that they will replace the battery if needed. I am not impressed with the battery power as it is, so I can't imagine how annoying it could be if it loses too much power. Thanks to everyone who chimed in!

The Apple store will replace the battery for $79 if it fails outside of the initial warranty. I didn't think it was worthwhile to pay $99 up front, and possibly a deductible, for something like that.

I got a 5S for my dd, who is 14. She dropped her old phone several times a day and the way kids have their phones out all the time had me worried. I have never gotten insurance on a phone before but I did this time. I chose Verizon's $10/month insurance plan instead of AppleCare simply because I was less worried about damage than I was about theft. It's in an Otterbox Defender case so I think it's fairly protected except for theft or being left somewhere. I know the deductible is ridiculous but it gives me a little more peace of mind. I figure I'll drop the insurance in a year.
