Hi! I Am planning on doing just many different appetizers (finger foods) for Christmas Eve and would love some new ideas?? Every year I do spinach dip in a bread bowl, meat balls or lil smokies in the crock pot and a cheese ball!:scared1: This year I would love to try some different things!:confused3 Any ideas??

A favorite in our house is Ham and pickle rolls.
You take slices of ham from the deli, spread softened cream cheese on ham, place a Claussen whole pickle on and roll it up. Cut ham roll into bite size pieces. I then spear them with a toothpick to put on a platter.

If you ever see this in a gourmet shop, buy it!

It is so wonderful poured over a brick of cream cheese and served with crackers. You can order it online, but I think they sell in some gourmet grocers.

This recipe is sweet and spicy served the same way-over cream cheese. The horseradish gives it quite a kick.

Jezebel Sauce

Ingredients:

* 1 jar (16 to 18 oz) pineapple preserves or apricot preserves
* 1 jar (16 to 18 oz) apple jelly
* 1/2 cup horseradish
* 3 tablespoons dry mustard
* 2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper

Preparation:
Combine all ingredients. Cover and chill.

Hi,
You are very close to us!

Here are some of our Christmas EVe favorites:

pigs in the blanket
wings
ham biscuits
potato skins

chips/salsa
sausage cheese balls
Pizza squares (sausage/hambuger/velveta cheese and italian seasoning mixed and melted on party bread

christmas cookies and
Chocolate

I like to soften up a brick of cream cheese add salsa to your liking and stir it till it is blended . Spread on a flour tort roll em up and slice em . People love them and they are cheap and easy

Greenbeans wrapped in bacon is very good!
Wrap 6-7 greenbeans in bacon put a toothpick on each end to keep bacon in place.
Place in a pan (I use foil pans for easy clean up) Pour Catilina dressing over them. Make sure to coat all the bacon and greenbeans. For 2 lbs of bacon i use about 2 lbs greenbeans and 2 bottles of dressing. Also I use tongs and flip once druing cooking.
I cook at 375 for about 45 mins or until bacon looks done and greenbeans are not burnt.

I made some baked cheese ravioli appetizers for a New Year's party several years ago and everyone loved them.

As I recall, you use fresh cheese ravioli (not frozen). Make a mixture of bread crumbs, parmesean cheese and spices (whatever you like). Spray the ravioli lightly with cooking spray and then roll them in the bread crumb mixture until they're coated. Spread them on a baking sheet (sprayed with cooking spray) and bake them at 375 until they're starting to brown. The coating makes them dry on the outside so you can eat them with your fingers. Serve with a marinara sauce for dip.

Drunk dogs (even though you said you always do lil' smokies in the crock!)
16 servings
2 28oz bottles of ketchup
1 C brown sugar
1/4 C whiskey
2lbs lil' smokies

In medium saucepan over medium heat mix all ingredients. Reduce heat to simmer for one hour.

Spinach balls
1 10oz pkg frozen chopped spinach
2 C seasoned stuffing mix, finely crushed (I use Pepperidge Farm stuffing)
1/2 C grated parmesan cheese
3 eggs beaten
6 Tb softened butter
1/2 small onion, diced
1/8tsp thyme
salt and pepper to taste

Cook spinach and drain well. Combine with all other ingredients. Roll into walnut sized balls and put in fridge to marinate overnight. Bake at 350 about 10min.

Onion cheese dip
Heat oven to 375. Place 4oz shredded pepper-jack cheese; 8oz shredded cheddar cheese; 4oz light cream cheese; 1/2 C light mayo; 1/4tsp dried thyme; and 1C finely chopped sweet onion in bowl of food processor. Process until fairly smooth. Stir cheese mixture into 2C finely chopped sweet onion in a shallow 6-cup baking dish. Bake for 20min, stir and bake 10min more. Let cool slightly and serve with crackers or toast.

creamy shrimp dip
1lb cooked small shrimp
1 8oz container of reduced-fat sour cream
4tsp horseradish or more to taste
1/4 C ketchup
1/4 C reduced-fat mayo
1/2 tsp salt
2Tb fresh dill, snipped plus more for garnish; or 2tsp dried dill weed
1/4tsp hot pepper sauce
1/4 tsp black pepper
3 heads endive

Finely chop shrimp. In medium bowl combine sour cream, horseradish, ketchup, mayo, salt, 2Tb fresh dill, hot pepper sauce and pepper. Stir to combine; add shrimp and stir to mix thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate at least 2hrs or up to 1 day. Trim bottoms off endive and remove leaves, cutting end as needed. Remove dip from refrigerator 30min before serving; garnish with dill and serve with endive; or crackers.

Harry & Davids pepper relish-mix half the jar with cream cheese.

Pineapple cream cheese dip-bad me doesn't have the recipe but I am sure you can look it up. My mother has been making this since I was a kid & I could eat the whole thing.

atrichoke dip

mini quiches

stuffed mushrooms

fruit & a fruit dip

mini garlic bread with cheese or foccachia

Mexican dip-layer softened cream cheese on the bottom of the pan, followed by a layer of salsa & then mexican cheese. Bake until the cheese is melted, serve with tortilla chips.

cream cheese tortilla wraps (cut them to look like a spiral-don't have a recipe).

I am too hungry & need to go to bed to think of anything else.

I makes this for most family get togethers now. I'll type it up if you want it. Let me know.

Here are my current two favorites.

Cheesey Garlic Bread
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese (buy a wedge and grate it yourself, it makes a great difference!)

DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, combine butter, garlic and oregano; spread on cut sides of bread. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Broil for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Slice and serve hot.

(It really is so much better hot, hot, out of the oven. People LOVE this, so out of the oven and GONE)

--------------------------------------
Jalapeno Popper Spread
INGREDIENTS
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup mayonnaise
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies, drained
2 ounces canned diced jalapeno peppers, drained

DIRECTIONS
Stir together cream cheese and mayonnaise in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in green chiles and jalapeno peppers. Pour mixture into a microwave safe serving dish.
Microwave on High until hot, about 3 minutes.

Serve with Ritz crackers. Its so yummy!

Hot Nacho Dip
spread cream cheese onto bottom of oven safe pan (I use 2 packs cream cheese in a cake pan)
spread a jar of salsa (I use Tastefully Simple Black Bean and Corn Salsa)
Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top
Bake at 350 until cheese bubbles, eat with nacho chips

Pampered Chef pizza squares- I forget the exact name but if you want it I can find the recipe. It is a white pizza with tomato slices.

Cheesy Pinwheels-
Roll out a can of crescent rolls, push perforated seals together
spread can of garlic and herb cheese spread on top
cover with thin layer of prosciutto
roll and slice
bake at 350 until dough starts to brown

Cheddar Shrimp Nachos

3/4 pound deveined peeled cooked shrimp, chopped
1-1/2 cups (6 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (4 ounces) chopped green chilies, drained
1/3 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup sliced ripe olives, drained
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
48 tortilla chip scoops
In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, cheese, chilies, onions and olives. Combine the mayonnaise and cumin; add to shrimp mixture and toss to coat.

Drop by tablespoonfuls into tortilla scoops. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Yield: 4 dozen.

Broccoli Cornbread

1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
1 (8.5-ounce) package, corn muffin mix
4 large eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 cup small-curd cottage cheese
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon salt

Drain broccoli well, pressing between layers of paper towels.

Combine corn muffin mix and next 5 ingredients; stir well. Stir in broccoli.

Pour into a greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden. Let cool slightly, and cut into squares.

Yield: 12 servings

This is always a hit:

HOT CLAM DIP

2 (7 1/2 oz.) cans minced clams with
juice
1 c. Progresso Italian bread crumbs
1/2 c. melted butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. parsley, chopped fine
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
8 oz. Mozzarella cheese, grated

Mix together all ingredients except cheese, in oven-proof serving dish (pie plate). Sprinkle with grated Parmesan and top with shredded Mozzarella. Bake in 350 degree oven, 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Serve with crackers and little chunks of Italian bread.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

2 pkgs. (approx. 12 oz. each) southwest or plain pre-cooked chicken
2 blocks (8 oz. each) of cream cheese
1 ¼ cup Frank’s Hot Sauce
½ stick butter
8 oz. Monterey Jack shredded cheese
1 jar Marie’s Blue Cheese or Ranch dressing

Melt butter and sauté chicken in frying pan. Add hot sauce and simmer 5 – 10 minutes. Spread cream cheese in bottom of 13 x 9 inch pan. Place chicken on top of cream cheese. Spread dressing over chicken and top with cheese. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Serve with nacho chips.

*I have not been able to find 12 oz packages of chicken. I think most are 10 oz. and that is what I use. I have also used canned chicken (found near the tuna fish in the store) and it works fine. Most times I cook as it says above then pour the whole thing into a crock pot so it stays warm.

**I used ranch dressing—not a blue cheese fan.

Take a can of tiny shrimp, put a block of cream cheese on top, then pour a jar of cocktail sauce on top. Dip with Triscuits. I don't care for cocktail sauce, but everyone who has eaten this, loves it. Have fun!!

I've started just thawing some precooked shrimp and arranging them on a plate with homemade cocktail sauce in the middle. Everyone loves it, and I can guarantee no leftovers! (and it's lo-cal).
