My puppy Vader, who is a husky, lab, shepherd mix is sleeping on one of our heat ducts. The morning the furnace was not working, so the house was down to 57 degrees, when the furnace guy showed up to fix it. Apparently, my puppy doesn't realize that the cold shouldn't bother him that much.

My sister has a dane/hound mix named Vader. Cool name. :thumbsup2

My huskies don't want to go outside to do their business. They want to hold it until they explode I guess. It's not like they weren't bred for the cold. :lmao: Have to drag them outside, they do their stuff and are right back by that door so they can curl up in their blankets.
:lmao:

I think it's the Husky in him that is confused.

I live in Florida, and to my husky there are 2 seasons. Winter (anything below 60 degrees) where he must run away at all costs. And summer (anything over 80) where he finds the sunniest part of the yard and lays out on his back.

We brought him up north once, and he wouldn't walk in the snow.:confused3

My sissy umm all I have to say is if she does this again she is in trouble...yesterday she wanted out to do her business..she went out on the porch turned around and came back in and proceeded to to do her business on my kitchen floor!!!! :headache:

but to be fair she is a tea cup chihuahua so she is small but still she is 7 years old and KNOWS not to do that in the house!!!

hahaha! i have a Vader too-he's an EXTREMELY spoiled basset hound who thinks he's my second child. in his case, he is terrified of loud noises and howls like the world is coming to an end. cold doesn't seem to bother him.

Time to buy one of those potty mats from tv. There astroturf and have a tray underneith that collects the urine. It looks pretty cool looking thing.

He will just have to get over it, I refuse to retrain him to pee in my house. I have no desire to empty a pan full of urine for a 60lbs dog, this is his estimated weight when he is full grown.

Apparently he is warm enough now, he is sitting outside in the snow watching the world go by. He definately is very unique.

Our last malamute, when he was a puppy, enjoyed snuggling right near the wood burning stove.

But when he got older he was fine.

Then again, he was in CA the first years of his life, so....not all that cold.

And then he was moved to Miami, poor dude. He was *constantly* shedding after that move! My mom wished she had a loom. She could have made malamute undercoat yarn that could have made into sweaters that I was NOT allergic to!

i have never had a dog love cold as much as my Chow does. She just LOVES the snow, and will stay outside for HOURS when it hits freezing.

...go figure, since i'd love to move out of MA to somewhere warmer! Guess that's not happening. ;)
