App problems

I've seen others mention that they can't pause without the program restarting, but I've found that, when I'm on my phone using the app, and I try to do anything else (like check email or surf the web), the app cuts off and I have to start over. Has anyone else had this problem? Know what I might be able to do to fix it (android).
