App for Disney to text reservations

What apps have you used to give Disney a number to text you for reservations? Trying to refrain from using international plan for our 2 upcoming trips since those fees can add up quickly! WhatsApp didn’t work for us last time, TextPlus doesn’t seem to be working either when set on airplane mode.

Suggestions/ideas?

There are no fees to receive a text message for most plans, it's only when you send messages out or answer phone calls.

My plan doesn’t unfortunately. But it’s such a good plan otherwise that I don’t want to change it.

We only used texts when we were on walk-up waitlists. Reservations you check in via MDE and you're notified via the app when the table is ready.

We also had half the party who did not use text at all while there (in May) and simply explained to the CM that we had a Canadian number, asked for a return time, and left their name. They were happy to accommodate.

World or Land? In Disneyland we found some places would not text international numbers. We missed our original seating at one restaurant as they said “we texted you”. They got us a seat later on, but it was a much longer wait, and standing right outside of the venue.

In my experience, they usually do not text Canadian numbers. We had two trips this summer, so I purchased a Mint Mobile plan. Introductory offer was 3 months for $45 US with an esim and that covered both our trips with a US number so I could receive texts. Other options include a physical sim card from Amazon which will also give you a US #.

Had no issue using my CDN number. …and that’s with no US plan (I’m on Public Mobile - prepaid) Receiving texts is free - usually with pretty much every carrier.

Alternative is check in using the App. Phone number is optional.

In the past there were issues with Canadian numbers not being able to receive the your table is ready texts, but we didn't have any trouble at all on our February trip that just past.
