Sorry, this is probably a silly question. Is the Loews hotel parking the same facility as the park parking? So if I get an annual pass which says free parking is that for both park parking and hotel parking?

Also, I can't remember if you pay at the entrance to the parking facility or the exit? If I only buy the pass after I get there it won't be in my hot little hands when we drive up so how does that work?

Thanks in advance for any help.

hotel self parking is $18 plus tax.
the ap does not apply to hotel parking only garage parking.

the hotels are not owned by universal.

the parking fee will be on your hotel bill when you check out.

you can get free garage parking once your ap is activated.
you activate the ap in the park.

so, you would be paying for garage parking on your first visit.
all other visits, you show your ap when you park.

I wish they would give AP holders a discount for hotel parking.

Hmmmm. So Could I park at the garage while staying at the hotel? They can't be that far away?

Okay, never mind. I searched and found that the garages don't allow overnight. I guess I will have to do some math to see if we still want a rental car as that is another $36. Maybe we will just use some kind of car service.

you could always rent a car for the needs you have and then drop the rental off once you check into the onsite hotel.

if you need the rental for returning to the airport, use a taxi, car service or another rental car.

Is there a rental location at any of the three hotels, or city walk area?

the hotels have Hertz onsite.

doubletree and another hotel near there has two other companies.

it would be a short walk from the hotels on the other side to UO, or about a $5 taxi ride.

you could drop your luggage off and check in at the onsite hotel and then drive the rental to the drop off center depending on which company you use.

It just depends on what you want the car for.

We want the car because we go to the grocery store, we go to Sweet Tomatoes, we've even been known to go to DTD for dinner after a day at the Universal parks. We like being mobile, so the cost of parking is just part of our budget.

If you aren't using your car for those things, then it makes it easier!

OP if it makes you feel any better, Loews hotels are one of the few non-WDW resort hotels in orlando i've priced out that don't have resort fees, 'just' the parking fee.

It is crazy to me how they add on on these little fees, $18 parking, $25 rollaway bed, $$ for Internet if you want if. But I guess if other resorts are rolling it up to a resort fee that is just the way it is in the land that the tourists paid for.

I am staring to rethink the whole AP idea for my family anyhow. Maybe will call back again and change my AP rate back to AAA rate. Before i booked, I was calculating free parking into my savings and now am spending $100 to save $50, lol!

i feel your pain;) Not exclusive to Orlando, even las vegas is jumping on bandwagon with resort fees for most of the strip's resorts.

I have a question about hotel parking. At Disney, you get free valet parking (at the deluxe hotels) with a handicapped placard or plate. Do the onsite hotels offer the same?

no, still not free at the darkside hotels.

i'm not bothered by parking fees in orlando.
guess i am used to the $40 per night for the chgo hotel parking fees.
