We have APs, but are also going to be staying at GCH for one night the last week of August. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to APEE vs. EMH? We would be eligible for both, and I was thinking APEE is a hassle because I'd need to register, get a wristband (which takes extra time), etc.

I should just do EMH instead, right? Or am I missing something here?

For EMH you want to go where you can go with the APEE. You don't want to go to DL on the MM days which are oppsite the APEE days.

Don't bother with the wrist bands, unless you want them as souvenires.

Since you are staying on property it does not matter cuz you have a 2 choices.

1. Check in before 7am on the day of your stay.
2. Wake up for morning hour (7am again) the day of check out & leave your bags with bell service until you are ready to leave.

Thats a total of 2 times for magic morning while your stay for 1 night.
You can still register fpr AP EE but drive from your house to DL or stay at another hotel nearby. We have AP's & registered for EE (DL last week & CA this Saturday) but also stayed on property (PPH on 4th of July & Holiday Inn/VGC in August) to enjoy this as much as possible! We did not get wristband for DL last week so I assume its the same @ CA.

Okay, got it. We are just going to do CA, so I guess it doesn't matter because there is no MM there. We will be driving to the parks Monday morning, but I doubt we'd get there early enough for EMH. Traffic stinks!

Actually there is early entry for someone everyday of the week for both parks right now. On Mondays resort hotel guests have access to early entry at either park, and APs who pre-register have access to early entry to Disneyland. Sounds like you don't think you will be there in time to enjoy your early entry, but we found our DCA early entry to be very beneficial. Of course, we were fortunate enough to be there on a day when RSR was actually open from 7 AM. On one of our non-early entry days, RSR wasn't scheduled to open until noon.

Also, a side note, they are no longer handing out wristbands for AP early entry. They just have CMs standing out in front of the rope pen who scan the APs with iPhones. Then you line up in front of one of the penned in turnstiles and your APs are again scanned (as normal) at the turnstiles when the gates open.

Yes, early entry of some kind on every day...but the actual Magic Morning (people with 3-day or longer passes) is only at DL. I would think early entry at DL would be less crowded on non-MM days.

But in any event, we will do early entry at DCA on Day 2 of our trip. Hopefully, RSR will be running that day :)

That was our experience. Similarly, I expect early entry at DCA is best on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays when only hotel guests have access. That is why I would highly recommend you go there on the Monday or Wednesday if either of those were possibilities.

We are going to DCA on Tuesday. But I'm hoping the APEE won't make much of an impact. It seems like attendance hasn't been too high. Then again, the lower APs will be unblocked by the time I go, so it could be more crowded. We will just have to make do!

We were there this past Sunday to use our APEE. Just didn't fit in on a weekday. I can assure you there were plenty of AP holders there, and both deluxes and premiums could get in. I'm sure there were lots of hotel visitors as well. The entire "pen" that they roped off was full of people before they opened the gates. Still, we had a great experience and got to do all we wanted/expected to accomplish that morning. Have fun when you do go!
