Ap8 Extended

If any of you are interested, I just booked the Grand from Hotels.com at $227.51 a night for Jan. I think this special runs until the Presidents day. Go check it out. Travelocity had the same rate, but the fees were higher.

So go figure....................better prices from them than my AP discount, not to mention that the offer was good on a "view room."

When I checked out PP and the DL hotel, the prices were higher than the AP discount. :confused3

My DH said, you had better snag those rooms before they are gone!! :cool1:

Another bit of tidbit I just found out is, that if you are a senior citizen or if someone in your party is, DLR gives you 30% off of your rooms. So in May over Mother's Day my Mom, sisters and I are going to the Grand again with great rates. I got the information from AAA. Maybe you have to go through them to get this rate, and when I talk to my AAA travel agent again, I'm going to ask her what DL considers a senior citizen. So many places have different age criterias. Probably 80+..............which my Mom is, but that would leave a few other folks out for sure. :rotfl: If anyone is interested I will find out today and post back on that. :thumbsup2

Great info, tinkermell! I looked at hotels.com and found the rate you mentioned...one thing I don't understand is the "Standard View Room" rate is $227.51 while the "Standard Room" rate is $350. What's the difference between Standard View and Standard that would make a $123/night price difference? Maybe the first one is non-refundable or something? BTW, it was nice meeting you in October :)

Hey that's right!! I wish that I hadn't been looking for my kids, or I could have talked longer! It was nice meeting another DISer. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Back to the hotel stuff. Yeah...........go figure. The view room had a better price than a regular non view room. I kept on looking thinking that something was wrong. Which it could be. But I have the info in hand to show them. Woo hoo! A view room for $227.51!! The cancellation policy is just ok. I booked it for next Saturday the 17th, and if I want to cancel I have to do it by the 13th I believe. Which is pretty early. But I couldn't pass up that special!
