AP7 is out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Called at 7am this morning and was able to book a birthday trip 12/7-12/12 at the GCH Theme Park View--this is a special present to myself. And we aren't telling the kids, so it will be a big christmas surprise!

The CM that helped told me I was his second call for the day and the first call had requested the exact same dates, hotel and view! I was so scared he was going to tell me that he had gotten the last room and there were none left, but I was able to book. :cool1:

Can't wait!

I just wanted to point out that the AP7 rate isn't excluding August dates -- I already had a reservation at the Disneyland Hotel for August 12-17 at $300/night, called, and rebooked with AP7 at $179. :thumbsup2

I just did the exact same thing for Aug 9-13.

Thank youThank you!!!!
Got it!! $239 gor GCH!!

I called 3 days ago and it hadn't been released yet..thanks for the heads up!

We just got two rooms for the DLH for $159 each for Oct 26-30th........:) We have stayed at the Paradise......this will be a first at the DLH....:)

Does anyone know when the promo rates start? We are going at the beginning of August in 09 and I have already put 7/23/09 on my calendar to start checking for the AP7 rates. Do you think they will be available?

I am not a DL expert, but I had read that often in the past there were no AP rates for the summer months; therefore, I was pleasantly surprised to find them available for our trip next month. I think this reflects the economy, and DL seems to be seeing a decrease in attendance this year. Whether you get AP rates for August next year will depend on whether they feel they "have" give them to keep the parks/hotels full. Good luck!:wizard:

Isn't it wonderful?:goodvibes

Is there a special phone number to call to make these AP7 reservations?

Is there a special phone number to call to make these AP7 reservations?

I was told to call (714) 956-6425. There was an option to select if you are an annual passholder. You must ask for AP7 by name. We don't have APs yet but we put them in our itinerary with our room reservation and were able to get the AP7 rate.

There is also another number listed in one of the first posts, it will work as well. When I booked they didn't even ask me if I had an annual pass they just said I will need to show it when we check in.

If you made the reservation with the AP7 and you have that rate dont worry about it now. You should be able to use a voucher to check in, infact I think hotels give you the vouchers (when adding an AP to a reservation). Youll be fine and if they give you a hard time at check in ask for a manager, explain you have a voucher, and that youll be getting the AP once you get in the park, and that your old one expired months ago (which is why you needed the voucher).

EDIT: Just booked. Asked about the voucher for you, she said that if you bought the voucher from a disney store (to redeem is DL for an AP), it will be honored as an AP, Also if you added an AP to your room reservation it will also be ok.

Also just booked GCH 09/5-09/7/08 for $239.00 a night (from $345.00 a night)!!!!

Thanks for the information! I called back and was told I could add the AP to my reservation and use the AP7 rate, so I switched it and saved $55 for our 5 night stay (which doesn't quite make sense to me since it's $20 less per night, plus an additional $60 for the pass, it should have been a savings of about $40)

I called that 714-956-6425 and they sent me to central at 714-520-5045

OK all... I just got off the phone with central and here are the numbers I got for my stay Oct 11-17. Lets just start off by saying that I currently have a "Visa Dream Vacation Package" booked for 3 adults, 2 kids (4,2) at the Grand Californian with a theme park view. I've already paid in full $3762.

Now I called to book the same days at the AP7 rate and here is what I was told. For the same room type durring those days it is $383/night total with tax (15%) for 6 nights would be $2642. Now add the annual pass $259 and 2 adult 8 day park hoppers $204 each and 1 child 8 day park hopper $174 and the total for everything with taxes would be $3483.

Now consider I'd have to pay $100 to cancel my reservation it would be $3662-$3483 = I would save $179 booking the AP7 rate.

If I do so I would be giving up:
-Toon Town Morning Madness pass
-Collectible Dream coin
-Downtown Disney District Fun Card
-4 Lanyards and pins
-DCA Preferred Seating:confused3
-Disney Visa Backpack
-Preferred Parade Viewing

If I go with the AP rate I'll be getting:
-The option to return anytime over the next year (which I wont!)

Worth it?

Also was quoted the concierge AP7 rate for these days at:
-$545/night for Concierge Courtyard View
-$599/night for Concierge Theme Park View
Even the non concierge is blowing my budget but these rates are rediculous! :lmao:

I'm still happy. At least I tried to save some $. If I didn't try for the AP7 rate I'd be wondering how much I would/could have saved. If anything, I can sleep easier tonight! :)

I don't know if this is a help or not, but you list $379 for the AP, why not get the Deluxe for $259? That would be an additional $120 savings and if you aren't going back in the next year do you need the Premium one?

Actually you are right... The shopping discount is only 10% which I'll get with my Disney Visa anyways!

599 a night for a theam park concearge level is just a rip off. so wrong
im getting hojos for 510 for all my nights. Idk if i could ever see spending that much a night even if i had the money
last year when i was looking at pp concearge level park view was like 230 or somtehing a night i think? but no where close to 599

Sy-- how old are your kids? The only thing in there that to me might be worth is is the ToonTown thing, IF you have little ones 6 or under. Otherwise it's not worth it. We went and it was cute, but crowded and kind of lame. Preferred seating in DCA is worthless except for Aladdin, which will be down during your trip. I don't know about the parade viewing, if they can really get you in somewhere good without staking out a patch of sidewalk for an hour, that would be nice. Lanyards, backpacks=stuff. Coin=stuffed in a junk drawer at our house.

That said, are you SURE you wouldn't come back within a year? If you have the opportunity, it's a great getaway for a day or two. (I've been trying to convince DH to get APs for the two of us, since he takes business trips to Long Beach a few times a year. More's the pity, his department at Boeing is not going to be doing much there any more, so no more trips :sad1: )

I remember last year on the special AP rate GCH concierge rate was only $40 a night more . . . . I should have done it just to experience it once; with the cost now it is totally ridiculous for a few drinks and appetizers.

Even the PPH concierge deal this year is NOT good. The rooms are $159-$189, but the concierge with the AP7 rate jumps to $340/night!

Makes me wonder why they offer it at all? Obviously some people value it enough to pay for it. I think it's just CRAZY. :sad2:

They are going to have to start offering more for concierge if they plan on keeping these prices. There was almost no benefit to it outside of food already; especially at PPH, and now I'm not sure why you'd pay for it. But maybe there will be some free upgrades this fall if it doesn't book up.

I've heard of it on some of the reviews I've read on the disney hotels :) I don't think it's common but it does happen.
