AP7 is out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. my experience is the rate availability calendar doesn't reflect the special AP rates anyway--just the normal AP rack rate.

yep thats the truth...on the calendar it said DLH standard rates for my weekend was $260 per night and I got it for $234 per night...

I just booked 11/1 to 11/8 for $299 theme park View for GCH. Last year we got concierge for $279 at GCH. :confused3

I am really surprised that they rates are so high. Concierge was $514 and she said she had not seen anything cheaper for concierge all day.

$179 DLH Pool View 9/17-9/22.

Now I need to convince DH to take the baby and I for our 16th wedding anniversary. :scratchin

Just one more reason to GO HO JO!!! Seriously, it can't really be worth that much money, can it??? I'm paying $59 for a larger room with a microwave and a great new kids' splash park with slide, within walking distance. There's no way I could justify paying FIVE TIMES MORE for the GCH. Although I'll make sure I spend some time enjoying the lobby and fireplace for free. :rolleyes1

I just wanted to point out that the AP7 rate isn't excluding August dates -- I already had a reservation at the Disneyland Hotel for August 12-17 at $300/night, called, and rebooked with AP7 at $179. :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness! I just called and I can get my DGC room for $279/night instead of the $400/night that I have paid for through GAT!! I only have to pay a $50 canx fee, but still save about $400 - yahoo :woohoo:

well end of aug and most of sept are not booked up....they have plenty of availability...its Oct. alot of Nov. and most of Dec. that is the problem....

I feel dumb for asking this, but I'm planning on getting an AP by October. What do the numbers mean for discounts. AP7 ?

You don't have to an AP to book an AP rate you just have to have one when you check in.. So if you know that you are going to get one call and ask for the AP7 rate for your dates..

New to DIS. Does this mean that the hotels are full during the week in Oct? Our dates are Oct. 20-25. Will the weekend be our only problem?

Thanks for the info!

Canyon girl I can tell you with complete confidence they are completely booked up for those dates except if you want to dish out anywhere between $400-$500 a night for concierge rooms:confused3

Man!! I miss out every single year. My dates are always gone (basically, any weekend in October). I couldn't find anything in Nov or Dec either. :sad1:

I'm kinda bummed too. I already booked our flight not thinking the weekends in December would be blocked...I guess I was focusing on going during our anniversary. I think I am more bummed about not having early entry than anything.

Thanks for the info! I just called and I they have the AP7 rate for my Oct 7-12 stay at the Disneyland hotel. It's a savings of $20 per day for 5 days, for a total of $100 and only paying an additional $60 for the difference between a 6 day park hopper and the deluxe AP, so I come out ahead by $40.

Then he puts me on hold to check something-for a long time. When he comes back he says that you have to be a current AP holder, and if I try to check in with just a voucher for the AP they won't guarantee that I'll get that rate and may have to pay rack rate to check in!

Is that true? Should I try calling back to talk to someone else?

If you made the reservation with the AP7 and you have that rate dont worry about it now. You should be able to use a voucher to check in, infact I think hotels give you the vouchers (when adding an AP to a reservation). Youll be fine and if they give you a hard time at check in ask for a manager, explain you have a voucher, and that youll be getting the AP once you get in the park, and that your old one expired months ago (which is why you needed the voucher).

EDIT: Just booked. Asked about the voucher for you, she said that if you bought the voucher from a disney store (to redeem is DL for an AP), it will be honored as an AP, Also if you added an AP to your room reservation it will also be ok.

Also just booked GCH 09/5-09/7/08 for $239.00 a night (from $345.00 a night)!!!!

YIPPEE!!!! Finally I get a deal!

I just booked GCH for $239 per night for Sept 19 & 20. Plus $12 per day resort fee and tons of tax, of course. They let me put the first night on my parents' credit card so DH will have NO idea about our trip until I am ready to surprise him! YAY!

Does anyone know when the promo rates start? We are going at the beginning of August in 09 and I have already put 7/23/09 on my calendar to start checking for the AP7 rates. Do you think they will be available?

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting about the ap7 rates!

Just got gch for 11/30-12/5 for $249/night ($286.35/night including all fees & taxes) compared to my last night Dec. 5th-6th which is $465.75. Whoo hoo! :woohoo:

Makes having an ap that much more fun! :yay:

Wow! You guys are lucky - I just called for 10/6-10/11 and cannot get the rate at any of the hotels for any level! I am so bummed!

(Added: Ok, called back and got the rate - $249 at GCH - not sure why the first CM said it was not available at all!?!)

Thanks for all the tips and heads-up everyone!
