For our October trip, when would be the best time to purchase an annual pass and where? Can I get one in TDS or should I get it upon arrival in Oct.? Is it the same price no matter what? Thanks!::MinnieMo

I BELIEVE that there is no pre-purchase discount. I think that I have heard that there may be some advantages to getting them early (in case of a price hike, a 1-800 perhaps?, special holders for the AP, etc), but I can't recall everything I've heard. Wish I could've been more help...I've never bought AP's before. (I will be at the end of this month though...woo hoo......:bounce: ).

I decided to wait & buy them there since there didn't really seem to be any advantage. I'll purchase & activate at the same time...& kill 2 birds with one stone.

Hopefully someone else here can give better info.

HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!!

Enjoy your trip.

Warmest regards,

Since the Disney Club is no more, there are no longer any discounts available to the general public for annual passes (unless you qualify for a Florida resident pass or a military pass).

There isn't an advance purchase discount, either.

The only reasons to buy in advance are:

* You think the price will increase before you arrive
* You have several passes to buy and want to spread out the cost over several weeks/months
* You like the idea of having your passes paid for before you arrive

Best wishes -

I read a couple places that the passes may go up on Monday, possibly affecting the AP rates?

Maybe just a rumor..?

we bought ours at the disney store and then KNEW we were really going! why not buy them in advance? it took maybe 10 mins tops to get them activated and fun to have them in hand all ready and waiting! ( just don't forget and leave them at home!)

Anyone know how much the AP is right now for adults and for kids?

Thanks!

Do you still get a voucher if you buy it outside of the park, and get an activated pass the first day you use it, or is it an activated pass the minute you buy it?

you get a voucher at the disney store that you get activated( with the date of activationstarting the year of use) once you get to wdw

What do I have to do to get mine activated? I bought one in advance because there was a code on Mousesavers and we got $259 at the Beach Club during easter, but needed the pass. So it was worth it for us to buy it ahead. I only bought one and used it for the discount. It saved us $120 a night and we are staying 8 nights. Completely worth it!

Probably a stupid question but here goes....... do they activate upon your first USE (in other words, good for a year following the first time you use it) OR does the countdown start the minute you buy them??

If you buy in advance, your voucher will NEVER expire. They begin to expire when you exchange your voucher for the actual pass.

You go to a guest services window at one of the parks or DD.
