This will be my first time purchasing Annual passes, but I am also a DVC member. For those of you who have experienced both, where do you see the biggest difference? Besides park ticket savings. Are the discounts about the same? Is it more of an advantage with the room only offers? Do AP members receive more discount offers?

Thank you

You can buy the TIW card as an AP holder.

Being a DVC member and an Annual Passholder are not mutually exclusive. As a DVC member you get a discount on an Annual Pass. This Annual Pass will give you all the same discounts as a non-discounted pass. Thus, with DVC and an AP, you get access to the benefits of both - not just one or the other!

I agree that the biggest perk of owning an AP is the TIW discount card! We love that one!

I would really, really, really like to be able to buy the TIW card as a DVC member without having to be an annual passholder.

I know we would go off site to eat less frequently.

And I think it might be helpful for people who are thinking DVC members are missing out on free dining deals. I know I am free to pay rack rate at any time for the dining deals, but we have plenty of points for our stays.

I also find the free parking with the AP a benefit for when we stay *gasp* off-property with extended family at peak point times. We just don't have enough points for holiday weeks, and enjoy renting townhouses or pool homes at Windsor Palms or Windsor Hills.

I am trying to keep up with all of the abbreviations:rotfl2:as sometimes it can get the best of me:dance3: but what is the TIW card and how does it work?:goodvibes

TiW is "tables in wonderland" or formerly the Disney Dining Experience (DDE). It can be purchased for $75 when you have an AP or a Florida Resident Pass. It provides 20% off most table services including alcohol, and at a few food courts where there is no TS restaurant like the values and POFQ. I think the break even point I've read is $375 of restaurant purchases. It's good for 13 months.
