We have a deluxe pass currently, and our year is up September 8th. We have a couple of Saturdays coming up that we might want to visit the parks in.

If we upgrade the pass so close to the expiration date, do they allow you to pay a pro-rated amount?

Knowing Disney my guess would be no, but thought I would ask!

No, not as far as I've heard from people who upgrade from one pass to another.

But are you renewing?

On the AP website, it says that if you are renewing and want to upgrade for the next year, and you are within 30 days of renewal, you can just pay the amount of the next AP, and you get those privileges for the 30 days until normal expiration, AND your AP retains the normal expiration date!

I think it's under Discounts on the AP page, since I'm not making any sense at all.

But if you can wait until you're 30 days out, if you're renewing, you can just pay the Premium rate and get to use Premium privileges from that date until Sept 8 2009. :)

We will be renewing and plan on upgrading then, thanks for the tip for that one!

I just upgraded my pass from So. Cal. to Deluxe last night. You do have to pay the entire price difference, there is no pro-rating. My pass renews in March and I always upgrade to deluxe for the summer. I think of it as the AP payment plan. Disney doesn't get all of my money as once!
