Not sure the best place to post this, mods please move as you see fit.

We are staying offsite this year, and plan to purchase memory maker as well as do TS meals every night. Looking at the current anniversary restaurant discount, as well as parking and the cost of MM, I feel like the best option would be to price bridge and upgrade one ticket to an AP. (It will cost $314 to upgrade, parking for 6 days is $120, and pre order of MM is $149 so I would need to save $45 on restaurants to break even.... not hard for a party of 5-8)

My question is this....If I recall correctly, I need to use the ticket first before I can upgrade to an AP. And I need to order MM 3 days before I plan to use it. How do I accomplish both?

Thanks..and feel free to point out any errors in my thought process

MM is automatically available if you have an AP. Only the person with the AP will be able to see the pictures in their MDE, edit them and download them for free. Anyone who is part of your friends and family that has been linked to your MDE account will have their Photopass pictures show up in your MM. My daughter was in Disney last fall with her boyfriend and all of their pictures showed up in my MM while they were still in the parks.

And FWIW, you do not need to use your ticket first before you upgrade it.

So unlike the pre-purchase of MM with an AP it is automatic? GREAt to know. I am confused though. in the past If I purchased tickets from a third party they had to be used before upgrading

No need to use the ticket first anymore. But if you purchased your tickets prior to the recent price increase (or from a 3rd party's leftover stock just following the increase), you will only get whatever the gate price of that ticket was on the day before the increase. That's a new development.

If I use it first do they still price bridge?

The latest price increase was in February. If you purchased your tickets prior to that, or shortly after but it was "old stock" from a 3rd party, PPs are correct that the ticket will only be considered the value just before the ticket increase went into effect. This is new, as previously it could be bridged to current gate price. It does not matter if you use the ticket first or not. Just be aware of what the value should be and make sure you are given the correct credit.

If you purchased your ticket after the price increase and it is not "old stock" from the 3rd party, it should have current gate price. And it won't matter if you use the ticket first or not.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks all. I have an old stock ticket, but the price is still reasonable to upgrade when I factor in parking, MM, and the dining discounts
