AP to PAP, back to AP

It is almost time for me to renew my annual pass. With the promotion, I can get the PAP for cheaper that a DVC AP renewal. I can do that, right? If I choose not to renew the PAP next year, but only want the regular AP, would it be considered an AP renewal, or would i have to pay for the initial AP purchase again? I know this sounds confusing, but I just don't want to have to spend more money next year if I cant renew to a lower level AP.

You can upgrade/downgrade your AP at renewal time at whatever the current renewal rate is.
